Job Overview
Citi is looking for a Scrum Master Programmer Analyst to join its KYC Modernization technology team in Mississauga, Canada, contributing to the design, development, and continuous improvement of critical financial applications. In this role, you will work at the intersection of software engineering and agile delivery, building and enhancing systems that directly support client-facing operations and compliance-driven platforms. You will operate with meaningful autonomy, act as a subject matter expert for senior stakeholders, and play an active role in facilitating agile ceremonies and coaching development teams.
Responsibilities
Facilitate agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and reviews to keep the KYC Modernization development team focused and delivery-oriented.
Design and develop enhancements to existing applications by analyzing requirements, interpreting code, and applying scripting tools to deliver targeted system improvements.
Build and implement programming solutions in response to client and business needs, working collaboratively with users and cross-functional technology teams.
Identify security vulnerabilities and application defects through structured testing and debugging, ensuring systems meet quality and compliance standards before deployment.
Diagnose and resolve application issues by drawing on technical experience and established precedents to select and implement effective solutions.
Act as a subject matter expert for senior stakeholders and team members, providing technical guidance and supporting sound decision-making across the team.
Coach and support junior analysts, sharing technical knowledge and helping to build capability within the development team.
Evaluate business decisions for risk exposure, ensuring that engineering work aligns with applicable regulations, internal policies, and sound ethical standards.
Required Qualifications & Skills
2 to 5 years of experience in an applications development role within the financial services industry.
Hands-on experience operating as a Scrum Master or in an agile facilitation capacity within a software development team.
Demonstrated ability to analyze, write, and interpret application code to solve real-world software problems.
Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Proven problem-solving and decision-making ability, with a track record of identifying root causes and implementing effective, lasting solutions.
Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results under deadline pressure or in response to shifting requirements.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
