Job Overview

The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for the enhancement of an application supporting OTC (Over The Counter) Derivatives Accounting platform and work with the global team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities. We are looking for highly skilled and motivated individuals with a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative spirit.


Responsibilities:

  • Partner with global team to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements

  • Design & Implement Java framework to migrate from legacy database platform

  • Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint

  • Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation

  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals

  • Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions

  • Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.


Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in Apps Development role with experience in leading a team of developers

  • Prior experience in Financial industry is preferred. Knowledge of Derivative products is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of Java fundamentals: data types, control flow, methods, arrays, and exception handling.

  • Solid grasp of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles: encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism, and abstraction.

  • Experience with Java Collections Framework (including EJB) and concurrent programming concepts.

  • Proficiency with an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) such as IntelliJ IDEA, Visual Studio or Eclipse.

  • Experience with version control systems, especially Github.

  • Familiarity with build automation tools like Maven or Gradle.

  • Ability to write and maintain unit tests using frameworks like Junit & BATS.

  • Hands-on experience with the Struts Framework for building robust applications.

  • Knowledge of ORM frameworks like Hibernate/JPA for database interaction.

  • Advanced SQL knowledge, including complex joins, subqueries, and performance tuning of SQL queries. Knowledge for Sybase or Microsoft SQL Server is a plus.

  • Scripting: Proficient in shell scripting for automation of batch processes.

  • DevOps & CI/CD: Experience with CI/CD tools such as Bitbucket and Jenkins.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to writing clean, maintainable code.

  • Continuous learner of new technologies and best practices in the Java ecosystem.

  • Agile/Scrum methodology experience is required.

  • Strong systems analysis, design and architecture fundamentals, Unit Testing and other SDLC activities

  • Develop and maintain high-quality, reusable, and testable code following established coding standards and best practices.

  • Consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions

  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and/or other team members.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
