Job Overview
The Director of Software & Cloud Services Vendor Management is responsible for the optimization of software and cloud service vendors across the enterprise. This role ensures vendors deliver measurable business value, contractual commitments are met, risks are managed, commercials optimized—while enabling innovation and speed.
In this role you play a critical part in ensuring our technology vendors deliver high quality services, meet contractual obligations, deliver cost saving efficiencies and align with our organization’s strategic objectives. You will serve as primary point of contact between software & cloud vendors and internal stakeholders, managing vendor relationships, mitigating risks and identifying cost optimization opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Define and execute the enterprise vendor management strategy for software, SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS providers
Drives substantial cost optimization across the estate through right-sizing, usage analysis, consolidation, and renegotiation
Drive Software Rationalization opportunities inline with technology strategyCommercial contract management of key contracts ensuring proactive engagement
Partner with Procurement and Legal on contract renewals, amendments and go to market strategies including RFP and RFI’s
Ensure contracts align with business needs, SLAs, and financial control
Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on vendor capabilities, risks, and tradeoffs
Resolve escalations related to vendor performance, delivery issues, or disputes
Align vendor roadmaps with internal technology and business strategies
Be a senior member in the Technology Vendor Performance & Optimization team
Manage a team of software deal advisory and commercial analytics experts
Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies
Required Qualifications
15+ years of experience in vendor management, IT management, sourcing, or technology operations
Highly credible hands-on software vendor management experience, confident to deep dive into a product and vendor capabilities experience managing vendors in financial services, regulated or complex enterprise environments
Strong experience managing software and cloud service vendors (e.g., SaaS, hyperscalers, enterprise software)
Proven track record negotiating complex, high-value contract renewals
Proven track record of delivering substantial software rationalization cost saving initiatives
Deep understanding of cloud consumption models, licensing structures, and SLAs
Experience partnering with Legal, Security, Finance, and Procurement
Strong analytical, communication, and executive-level presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with cloud financial management (FinOps) practices
Experience transforming vendor management functions
Background in IT, engineering, or technology leadership
Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, FinOps, cloud certifications)
Education:
University degree or equivalent experience operating in a similar role
