Job Overview

Transaction Management (TM) sits within the SMB&IC Operations and is responsible for supporting multiple aspects of the wholesale lending lifecycle including, but not limited to, loan closing and servicing coordination, facilitating complex client onboarding, data management and quality control. The team is accountable and responsible for operational oversight of the closing and servicing of all lending transactions across the business division being supported, and to ensure all internal and external requirements are met.

Transaction Management Business Enablement, is a strategic and influential role responsible for driving operational excellence, business process optimization, and innovative reconciliation tooling and reporting within the wholesale lending space specific to Transaction Management. This role requires a proven leader with deep expertise in large-scale data initiatives, and a track record of resolving complex business challenges through the development of advanced tooling and refinement of operational workflows. The individual will need to foster a high-performance culture, provide critical oversight for key data and business processes, and lead the partnership with our Transaction Management BAU teams, technology and data teams for the design, development, and implementation of optimized business processes, report tooling while also ensuring appropriate controls are in place.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data reconciliation and breaks oversight. Serve as the key TM business representative for data reconciliation process and interconnection with TMs downstream partners, including Loan Operations, Enterprise Data Office and Technology to drive improvements and greater interconnection across the wholesale lending space
  • Design and support the production of critical business management metrics and reporting. Presenting these finding in various senior management forums
  • Establish and optimize the associated workflow capabilities for execution of business processes specific to discrepancy resolution. Develop and utilize baseline data discrepancy analysis and reporting in Tableau to support performance measurement, and data attribute accuracy
  • Act as a primary decision-maker on complex business processes specific to exception handling. Working closely with the TM teams and stakeholders assess use cases, requirements and controls ensuring consistent application of policies and regulatory requirements across TM teams. Proactively identify opportunities to refine and enhance operational workflows
  • Reconciliation tooling and business process implementation. Drive the global development and implementation of a scalable reconciliation detective control process working closely with TMs stakeholder and business partners. Including but not limited to the review of current state platforms and future state conceptualization, and deployment of advanced tooling that identifies and help drive the resolves of data discrepancies specific to the TM and the wholesale lending space
  • Strategic data-led Initiatives and development. Lead and drive high-impact data-led initiatives across Business-as-Usual (BAU), Technology, and Data teams. Leverage data insights to deliver innovative solutions for technology development, holistic business process optimization, and enhanced operational efficiency
  • Establish and optimize the associated workflow capabilities for execution of business processes specific to discrepancy resolution. Develop and utilize baseline data discrepancy analysis and reporting in Tableau to support performance measurement, and data attribute accuracy
  • Drive the utilization of data insights by working closely with analytical teams to inform strategic decisions, identify trends, and implement continuous improvement initiatives for business processes and system capabilities
  • Business process transformation, lead organizational strategy and execution to successfully resolve complex, longstanding data capture and reconciliation matters. This includes redesigning and implementing new business processes that accelerate data remediation and meet enterprise-wide reporting commitments
  • Ensure meticulous accuracy, and adherence to data standards impacting key regulatory reporting processes. Working closely with TM teams and stakeholders to streamline underlying data capture and business processes
  • Establish robust processes and controls that effectively address risks, meet internal audit scrutiny, ensuring long-term compliance and sustainability

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive leadership experience within financial services, with a significant focus on wholesale lending operations, regulatory reporting, reconciliation tooling, and complex business process management and optimization.
  • Demonstrated experience in data led management tooling and solutions
  • Strong understanding of Citi’s existing and future state technology landscape as well as the multiple initiatives underway across the enterprise is beneficial.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering large-scale, data-driven projects and strategic initiatives from conception to global implementation, particularly those involving new tooling and significant business process change.
  • In-depth understanding of regulatory reporting requirements and operational business processes within wholesale lending.
  • Proven direct and indirect leadership of teams, with a proven ability to lead and inspire large, diverse, global teams in implementing and adhering to optimized business processes.
  • Strong analytical acumen with hands-on experience in leveraging data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) for reporting and insights, specifically for monitoring and improving reconciliation processes.
  • Advanced problem-solving capabilities, particularly in resolving complex operational and regulatory challenges through strategic business process redesign and system enhancements.
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence and engage effectively with senior leadership, internal auditors, and regulatory bodies on process and system improvements.
  • Track record of establishing key operating standards and KPIs/metrics with the achievement of leading team to meeting / exceeding these standards
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to work in an environment where priorities are frequently changing

Education:

  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
