Job Overview

The Fund Accounting Senior Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results , driving a variety of fund valuation activities in coordination with the Operations - Transaction Services team. Additionally, the individual will also be responsible for driving business execution, strategic initiatives, financial management, governance, workforce planning, and operational effectiveness across the Fund Services organization. The role partners closely with senior leadership to execute business priorities, enhance organizational performance, monitor financial outcomes, manage risks, and support the delivery of strategic objectives.

The overall objective of this role is to ensure the seamless delivery of activities associated with Net Asset Valuations (NAVs) and act as a trusted advisor to business leadership by providing business insights, governance oversight, resource optimization, and execution support to achieve organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior business leaders to define, monitor, and execute strategic priorities aligned to organizational objectives.
  • Drive business planning activities, including headcount planning, productivity tracking, and financial performance management.
  • Develop and maintain management reporting, dashboards, and business metrics to support decision-making and performance monitoring.
  • Lead governance activities, including business reviews, leadership forums, regulatory commitments, audit actions, and management committees.
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiency, cost optimization, resource redeployment, and process simplification across the organization.
  • Manage the business Risk and Control agenda, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and governance standards.
  • Partner with Finance, Human Resources, Risk, Compliance, Technology, Operations, and other functional teams to support business objectives and organizational priorities.
  • Support workforce strategy through organizational planning, talent management, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations, business reviews, and strategic updates for senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Drive issue management and remediation efforts, ensuring effective tracking and resolution of business, regulatory, operational, and audit-related actions.
  • Build strong relationships across internal stakeholder groups to ensure alignment, transparency, and effective execution of business initiatives.
  • Provide analytical insights through business data, workforce analytics, and operational trends to support strategic decision-making.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policies, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.

Recommended Qualifications

  • 8-12 years of relevant experience in business management, strategy, finance, operations management, program management, or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of financial services, securities services, fund services, asset servicing, or operations environments.
  • Experience in business planning, budgeting, financial analysis, expense management, and workforce planning.
  • Experience in fund accounting
  • Experience in accounting within financial services, strategic management, resource/expense management, and managing client relationships

  • Experience working with senior executives and preparing executive-level communications and presentations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Knowledge of governance, risk management, controls, regulatory frameworks, and audit processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills across multiple organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to drive change, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and management reporting tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and ability to operate effectively in a highly matrixed environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, Chartered Accountant (CA), CFA, or equivalent advanced professional qualification.
  • Experience in Fund Services, Custody, Asset Servicing, Securities Services, or related financial services businesses.
  • Experience in business transformation, strategic planning, or chief of staff functions.
  • Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent) is an advantage

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
