We’re currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as VP, Deposits Product Management Lead Analyst – Asia North Citigold(Internal Job Title: Product Mgmt Lead Analyst - C13) based in Hong Kong. In this role, you’re expected to:
The Deposits Product Management Lead Analyst is a senior-level position in the Deposit Product Management team, responsible for leading the strategic development and execution of deposit product initiatives. This role combines strategic product leadership with hands-on operational management, driving product innovation, pricing strategies, client segmentation, and competitive positioning while ensuring regulatory compliance and strong financial performance. The successful candidate will take full accountability for business results, balance sheet optimization, and risk management.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Product Leadership
Develop and analyze strategic product roadmaps, product enhancements, and product launches to gain maximum benefit from each deposit product
Oversee client and competitor market research to develop product innovation roadmaps
Review surveys and analyze competitive industry landscapes to identify relative trends, threats, and opportunities
Address fundamental challenges of product commoditization to create an advanced set of solutions
Maintain deep understanding of competitor offerings, pricing strategies, and market positioning
Product Management & Execution
Lead day-to-day product management for core deposit products including product delivery, client experience, and client communication strategies
Execute client value propositions, positioning, segmentation, pricing, targeting, channel strategies, and competitive differentiation to achieve preferred status as a partner to Citi clients
Develop and implement sophisticated product pricing strategies aligned with market conditions and business objectives
Design and optimize client journeys
Financial Performance & Risk Management
Contribute to achievement of acquisition targets, product financial performance, revenue performance, and expense management goals
Oversee identification and execution of opportunities and gaps in business plans
Take full accountability for business performance and business risk management
Apply solid knowledge of balance sheet management and liquidity principles to product decisions
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets
Regulatory Compliance & Audit
Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy
Manage internal and external audit processes related to DPS and deposit products
Apply sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices
Escalate, manage and report control issues with transparency
Team Leadership & Development
Provide informal guidance and on-the-job training to new team members
Coach and lead junior product managers to achieve financial goals
Implement team procedures, client problem resolution, and client management frameworks
Foster a culture of analytical rigor and data-driven decision making
System & Project Management
Lead or participate in system projects related to deposit product enhancements
Collaborate with technology, operations, and other stakeholders on product implementations
Ensure seamless integration of product changes across systems and platforms
Required Qualifications:
Experience
10+ years of relevant experience in financial services product management
Solid experience in deposit product management with proven track record of success
Hands-on experience with Deposit Protection Scheme (DPS), including managing internal and external audits
Deep experience in product pricing strategy and competitive positioning
Demonstrated experience in client segmentation and journey optimization
Experience in leading system projects related to product enhancements
Solid knowledge of balance sheet management and liquidity principles
Strong understanding of marketing, credit, acquisitions, product development, and analytics
Deep understanding of competitor landscape and market dynamics
Strong numeric sense with demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills
Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
Proven ability to coach and lead junior product managers to achieve financial goals
Full accountability mindset for business performance and risk management
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Ability to work unsupervised and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
Education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Technology, or related fields preferred
