Job Overview

The Head of Asia North Wealth Technology role is a challenging and fast paced leadership role in the International Wealth Technology Team. This role has extensive functional ownership, orientation and governance responsibility and leadership across Asia North to conduct a single accountable remit of the evolving Wealth Technology landscape, as well as corresponding Business and Operational priorities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Act as the single accountable officer for all matters related to Technology for Citi North Asia Wealth business
  • Lead and address, including preparation of materials, all Technology-related items in Technology Forums, Steering Committees, Operating Committees and other relevant governance forums pertaining to North Asia Wealth business
  • Work closely with applications, solution architects, Products, Business, and Operations teams to support the delivery of Technology solutions including timely delivery of committed initiatives
  • Ensure technology strategy aligns to business priorities by partnering with other technology teams and functional partners across the Citi network.
  • End-to-end responsibility of all technology deliverables for the North Asia Wealth business in discretionary, build the bank (BTB) and run the bank (RTB) funding buckets
  • Work in partnership with Production Support teams to ensure stability and performance excellence across the technology environment for all technology systems used by the North Asia Wealth business.
  • Management responsibility of all direct and indirect technology staff supporting North Asia cluster including staff and resource management, work allocation, mentoring/coaching and other management duties as required
  • Accountable for the day-to-day operational role for North Asia’s Demand, Release and Change management processes
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets. This will be accomplished by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervising the activity of others and creating accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of relevant working experience with strong technical background
  • 12+ years’ relevant experience in Wealth Management and/or Technology Strategy
  • 12+ years’ experience managing large or multiple high performing business or technology teams with demonstrable and measurable results. 
  • Deep understanding of Hong Kong regulatory landscapes and circulars under HKMA and SFC.
  • Possess deep understanding of technology operating models, processes,  and  wealth management products and processes
  • Relevant Qualification or experience to understand the different aspects of financial management like capitalization, cash spend and amortization
  • Demonstrated ability to take directions and work independently or as part of a team while performing work in a sometimes fast-paced, demanding environment
  • Proven ability to influence decision-making at all levels within an organization and influence non-directs through data and vision in a variety of contexts
  • Strong interpersonal, communication & analytical skills to engage, negotiate & prioritize the actions during the complex & multi-faced situations to pursue the best outcome for Global Wealth Management
  • Ability to lead and direct a team
  • Ability to size and prioritize large-scale initiatives across businesses.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior and middle level managers and with large interdisciplinary teams.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Fluency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin will be a plus

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experiences
  • Master's degree preferred
