Citi Finance is responsible for the firm’s financial management and related controls. We manage and partner on key Citi initiatives and deliverables, such as our quarterly earnings process and ensuring Citi’s compliance with financial rules and regulations. The team comprises chief financial officers who partner with each of our businesses and disciplines including controllers, financial planning and analysis, strategy, investor relations, tax and treasury.
We’re currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as Coverage Banking Finance Officer - Vice President based in Hong Kong. About the Team:
This role is part of the Lead Finance Officer (LFO) team for Coverage Banking within the Banking CFO team. The Coverage Banking LFO team is the primary finance partner supporting two key businesses: the Corporate Bank and the Commercial Bank. The team provides critical financial analysis, strategic insights, and decision support to the leaders of these banking groups, helping to drive business performance and manage global client relationships.
Role Summary:
The Finance Officer is a senior professional role responsible for providing management with in-depth analysis and insight into the financial performance of the Corporate and Commercial Bank businesses. The overall objective is to serve as a trusted advisor to the business, contributing to directional strategy and providing counsel on the financial implications of key decisions. This individual will utilize deep specialty knowledge to evaluate financial results, forecasts, and strategic plans, ensuring the business leaders have the financial intelligence needed to drive performance.
This role will focus on supporting Asia business heads, and contributing to an integrated global group covering Client Financial reporting, analysis, and initiatives within the Coverage Banking LFO team
As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:
- Regional Business Partnership: Partner with colleagues to serve as one of the primary finance supports for the Asia heads of Corporate and Commercial Bank, providing dedicated financial support, analysis, and strategic advice tailored to their regional needs.
- Client Financial Focus - Develop expertise in, as part of a Global team to deliver Client Financial reporting, forecasting, planning and analysis. Drive initiatives to improve the Client Financials, related metrics, the advancement of strategic uses of the information within the businesses
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Generate and present comprehensive financial reports that clearly summarize financial trends, performance drivers, and key business metrics. Provide insightful analysis to senior management and business heads.
- Business Advisory & Decision Support: Act as a subject matter expert on financial matters, advising on directional strategy and the financial impact of significant business decisions. Execute detailed analysis of client financials, sector, and product profitability to guide strategic resource allocation
- Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key partners, including business heads business execution teams, and finance partners to influence decision-making and drive results.
As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:
- 6-10 years of relevant experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, or a related finance/analytical role, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely to senior audiences and influence outcomes.
- Strong understanding of Corporate and Commercial Banking products is highly desirable.
- Proven analytical skills, with a strong ability to develop financial models and synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for financial modeling and PowerPoint for presentations.
- Familiarity with or experience in leveraging data analytics tools or artificial intelligence (AI) for financial analysis is a plus.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
