Role Overview
The Head of Platforms and Data Services (PDS) for Japan & Asia North (JANA) is a highly strategic leadership role within Citi’s Services business responsible for driving the regional product strategy, commercialization, and client adoption of Citi’s digital platforms and data capabilities.
This leader will act as the regional architect of Citi’s digital Services agenda, ensuring the successful localization, commercialization, and adoption of Citi’s global digital platforms and data services across the Japan, Asia North and Australia cluster. The role sits at the intersection of product strategy, client engagement, market insights, regulatory navigation, and digital platform innovation. The successful candidate will ensure Citi’s global digital capabilities translate into tangible client value, commercial growth, and market differentiation across the region.
Operating in one of Citi’s most sophisticated and diverse markets, the leader will oversee the last-mile execution of Citi’s digital strategy, ensuring that global capabilities are effectively adapted to regional client needs, regulatory environments, and competitive market dynamics.
This role requires close collaboration with senior stakeholders across global product teams, technology, sales, operations, and regulatory partners, while maintaining strong engagement with Citi’s most strategic institutional clients.

Key Responsibilities
Regional Product Strategy & Digital Platform Leadership
• Define and execute the regional strategy for Platforms and Data Services across the Japan, Asia North & Australia cluster, aligning closely with global product priorities while addressing local market dynamics.
• Act as the regional product leader and digital transformation champion, ensuring Citi’s digital platforms and data capabilities deliver measurable client value across the cluster.
• Develop and manage a multi-year regional product roadmap, prioritizing capabilities that drive client adoption, revenue growth, and operational efficiency.
• Translate global platform capabilities into regionally relevant solutions, ensuring strong product-market fit across diverse regulatory and client environments.
• Partner with global platform teams to influence future product development based on regional client needs and market insights.
Commercialization & Client Adoption
• Lead the commercialization and market adoption of Citi’s digital platforms and data services across the region.
• Partner closely with Sales, Coverage, and Banking teams to drive strong client engagement, product awareness, and adoption.
• Serve as a senior client-facing representative of the Services digital agenda, leading strategic client dialogues, roadshows, product demonstrations, and industry forums.
• Develop and execute regional go-to-market strategies, including pricing frameworks, commercialization models, and client segmentation approaches.
• Ensure digital platform capabilities effectively support client acquisition, onboarding, and long-term relationship growth.
Client Insights, Market Intelligence & Product Innovation
• Serve as the voice of the client for the region, ensuring client feedback, market trends, and competitive insights inform global product strategy.
• Lead regional market research and client analytics to identify emerging opportunities, client pain points, and product innovation areas.
• Conduct structured analysis of market trends, regulatory changes, fintech innovation, and competitive offerings to inform strategic product priorities.
• Translate client insights into actionable product enhancements, new use cases, and differentiated platform capabilities.
• Collaborate with innovation partners and fintech ecosystems to introduce next-generation digital and data capabilities.
AI, Data & Digital Innovation
• Drive the regional adoption of AI-enabled capabilities, advanced data services, and digital platform innovations aligned with Citi’s global strategy.
• Identify and implement regional AI use cases that enhance client experiences, operational efficiency, and data-driven insights.
• Promote the adoption of data services and analytics solutions that enable clients to extract greater value from Citi’s platform ecosystem.
• Partner with technology and product teams to accelerate innovation through Agile product development and experimentation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
• Partner closely with global product teams, cluster leadership, country management, and functional partners to ensure strong alignment and execution.
• Collaborate with Technology, Operations, Implementations, Sales, Legal, Compliance, and Marketing teams to deliver high-quality platform capabilities.
• Establish strong governance frameworks that enable effective prioritization, transparency, and cross-functional execution.
• Influence senior leadership across the organization to ensure strategic alignment and investment prioritization.
Regulatory Navigation & Risk Governance
• Ensure all platform and data services capabilities comply with local regulatory requirements across the diverse JANA markets.
• Serve as the regional lead for regulatory change management related to digital platforms and data services.
• Oversee product launches, regulatory approvals, and change management processes across the region.
• Maintain a strong and transparent risk and control framework, partnering closely with Legal, Compliance, Risk, Audit, and Finance functions.
• Safeguard Citi’s reputation by ensuring responsible innovation within a robust governance and compliance environment.
Leadership & Organizational Development
• Lead and inspire a high-performing regional team of product, platform, and data specialists.
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and client-centric thinking.
• Attract, develop, and retain top talent while building strong bench strength across the cluster.
• Encourage collaboration across geographies and disciplines to deliver integrated digital solutions.
Qualifications
Experience
• Relevant leadership experience in financial services, fintech, digital platforms, or data services.
• Extensive experience in platforms, digital banking, transaction banking, data services, or closely related domains.
• Proven experience leading regional product strategies and commercialization initiatives.
• Deep understanding of Asian markets, including regulatory frameworks, client behaviours, and regional business dynamics.
• Demonstrated success launching new digital capabilities and managing complex product rollouts across multiple countries.
• Experience operating within large global organizations and matrixed leadership structures.
