Citi is looking for an experienced capital markets operations professional to join its Debt Capital Markets Middle Office team, providing direct trade support to the Syndicate Desk across the full deal lifecycle. In this role, you will sit embedded with syndicate traders, acting as the operational subject matter expert for the debt capital markets business and driving improvements in trade processing, risk management, and platform efficiency. This is a high-impact position at the intersection of front office delivery and operational excellence, with visibility across global capital markets transactions.
Responsibilities

- Manage front-to-back trade reconciliations, identify and resolve operational risk, and coordinate trade confirmation and settlement queries with counterparties across the broader issuance syndicate.
- Support the onboarding and setup of new issuer clients, and oversee deal close-out processes including revenue distributions following successful transaction execution.
- Contribute to strategic platform re-engineering initiatives that reduce manual processing, improve straight-through processing rates, and align technology delivery with business objectives.
- Identify opportunities to improve processing automation through the use of AI, workflow tools, and other re-engineering techniques.
- Partner with the Equity Capital Markets Middle Office team to standardize trade processing practices and manage process risk consistently across the firm.
- Monitor and assess operational risk across the syndicate business, escalating control issues transparently and ensuring all activities comply with applicable regulations and firm policy.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 6 or more years of experience in a Middle Office or trade support role within capital markets.
- Solid background in fixed income or debt / credit trading operations, with hands-on knowledge of trade lifecycle management from capture through settlement.
- Working knowledge of local clearing systems including CMU and CDP, as well as international settlement platforms such as Euroclear and DTC.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve operational risk in a fast-moving trading environment.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both front office and operational stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
- Experience supporting equities or equity capital markets operations in addition to fixed income.
- Familiarity with straight-through processing improvement initiatives and the use of workflow or AI-based tools in an operations context.
- Exposure to syndicate deal management, including new issuer onboarding and deal close-out processes.
