Job Overview

We are seeking a senior technologist to lead the evolution of our Structured Products platform as we look to achieve a best-in-class standard. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive the re-architecture and optimization of our core pricing, quoting, and workflow systems. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who can identify strategic improvements and execute the technical vision to build our next-generation platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect & Design: Conduct a comprehensive review of our existing structured products quoting, pricing, and order management technology. Design a future-state architecture that is scalable, low-latency, and resilient, positioning our business for future growth.

  • Rebuild & Optimize: Lead the hands-on re-engineering of our core pricing and quoting engines. You will be empowered to make key decisions and rebuild components where necessary to achieve a best-in-class standard.

  • Develop Electronic Channels: Drive the strategy and development of our electronic channels for price dissemination, client quoting, and order execution, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for our clients and internal users.

  • Business Collaboration: Work directly with the trading desk, sales, and quantitative teams to deeply understand their workflows and challenges. Translate business requirements into robust, high-impact technology solutions that provide a competitive edge.

  • Stakeholder Management & Hong Kong Leadership: Serve as a key technology partner for business stakeholders in the Hong Kong office, managing expectations and aligning technology delivery with business goals. Provide local leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the technology team in the region.

  • Technology Leadership: Champion modern software development practices, including agile methodologies, test-driven development, and CI/CD, to build a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

Must-Have:

  • Proven, in-depth experience in the hands-on development of electronic pricing, quoting, or order management channels.

  • A strong background in front-office technology, with direct experience in either Cash Equities or Derivatives trading systems.

  • A deep understanding of the full trade lifecycle and the associated technology stack, from pre-trade analytics to execution and booking.

  • Proven experience in leading and managing high-performing technology teams.

  • A strategic and commercial mindset, with a passion for technology and a drive to build systems that are not just functional, but exceptional.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead complex software development projects.

Preferred:

  • Direct experience in Structured Products technology is highly desirable.

  • Experience working at a top-tier Equities investment bank.

  • Proficiency with modern programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++.

  • Experience with microservices architecture, cloud-native development, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Familiarity with high-performance messaging (e.g., Kafka).

  • Demonstrated experience leading greenfield projects or significant re-platforming initiatives
