Our Production Management team provides critical business and technical support for the Data Solutions applications, ensuring our platforms and services are always available for our clients. We are highly skilled and valued partners to the businesses we support.

Role and Position Overview
As an Apps Support Senior Analyst, you will take a central role in running and maintaining the production environment for Citi's critical Reference Data Applications – high visibility applications forming the backbone of Citi’s operations, serving hundreds of partner systems across Citi’s main businesses – Markets, Services, Banking, and Functions – enabling them to service our clients. The team under which you would work handles application dealing with securities, pricing and rates.
You will join a high-performing team focused on building a robust Production Support platform using the latest technologies, AI-driven automation, and reliability techniques. Our mission is to deliver a world-class client experience by digitizing services, eliminating manual work, and ensuring our platforms can scale for growth.
In this global role, you will provide support for our enterprise-critical applications, partnering closely with Application Support, Development, Infrastructure, Business, and Operations teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and business support for Citi users, addressing daily queries and issues, driving stability, efficiency, and risk management improvements to help the department and overall business succeed.
- Provide resolution to critical incidents including prioritization, timely escalation and communication to key stakeholders, driving immediate fixes, as well as comprehensive post-mortems and root cause analysis of all problems for recurrence prevention.
- Support the planning and execution of system changes, including application releases, infrastructure maintenance, and continuity of business tests, ensuring production stability is maintained.
- Maintain and optimize the production monitoring/observability estate by implementing new features and leveraging analytics to enhance system visibility and proactive alerting.
- Collaborate closely with development teams to recommend and implement improvements to application stability, performance, and recoverability.
- Identify opportunities and implement automation tools to reduce operational toil, improve efficiency, and mitigate risk.
- Use available automation tool to perform COB test few times in a year to enhance the application resiliency.
- Proactively develop, maintain, and continuously improve comprehensive technical support documentation, including runbooks, knowledge base articles, troubleshooting guides, system architecture diagrams, and application recovery procedures.
- Proactively and continuously assesses the implications of new and existing technology applications within the current operational environment, serving as a critical gatekeeper for production stability and security. This includes, but is not limited to, meticulously identifying potential operational risks, performance bottlenecks, architecture misalignments, security vulnerabilities, and compliance gaps.
- Operates with significant independence and exercises sound, autonomous judgment in complex, high-stakes production environments, requiring minimal direct supervision. This role serves as a primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for applications, infrastructure, and operational processes, directly advising senior stakeholders, business units, and other team members on critical technical issues, strategic improvements, and risk mitigation. This includes making swift, informed decisions under pressure, driving problem resolution, assessing the impact of critical incidents, and providing authoritative guidance that influences the overall stability, efficiency, and security posture of production systems
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Recommended Qualifications:
- 5+ years' experience in an Application Support role.
- Deep expertise in Unix/Linux and advanced Shell scripting
- Proficiency with enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., ITRS Geneos, AppDynamics) and log aggregation platforms (e.g., Splunk, ELK)
- Experience with some programming languages and willingness/ability to learn.
- Experience with containerization platforms (OpenShift, Kubernetes)
- Experience with relational (Oracle, MSSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases
- Strong knowledge of messaging solutions (Tibco EMS, MQ, Kafka)
- Advanced execution capabilities and ability to adjust quickly to changes and re-prioritization
- Effective written and verbal communications including ability to explain technical issues in simple terms that non-IT staff can understand.
- Demonstrated analytical skills
- Issue tracking and reporting using tools
- Knowledge/ experience of problem Management Tools.
- Effectively share information with other support team members and with other technology teams
- Ability to plan and organize workload
- Ability to communicate appropriately to relevant stakeholder
- Proven expertise in supporting high-volume, mission-critical applications that process, manage, and distribute financial data related to securities, pricing, and rates.
