About Global Fund Services

Global Fund Services is the centre of operations supporting Global Middle Office, investment accounting, performance, risk, and reporting clients. With key outsourcing clients and a growing book of Middle Office services, we now require an experienced Vermilion Developer to support our expanding team.

We are looking for a candidate to join the newly formed Client Reporting Team. The ideal candidate will have a background in Vermilion development and prior exposure to client reporting within the financial services industry.

The role involves working as part of a growing local team while also collaborating with an extended offshore team. Strong client ownership is essential, with the expectation to deliver high-quality service and contribute to strategic initiatives and change projects.

Job Purpose

The Vermilion Developer operates within Citi’s Global Middle Office and is responsible for a range of client reporting development tasks, including requirement gathering, enhancements to existing reports, and the development of new client reports.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the development and delivery of Vermilion-based client reports. This will involve close interaction with Product, Global IT, Operations, and third-party vendors to ensure reports are delivered to a high standard and within agreed service levels.

The role requires a proactive and independent professional with strong technical expertise and a “go-getter” attitude. Previous experience in financial services (preferably investment banking) and the ability to lead medium-to-large projects in a fast-paced environment are highly desirable.

Citi is undergoing a period of significant growth, and this role offers the opportunity to help shape the business. Initially, the position will be project-focused, with a transition toward BAU as milestones are achieved. Experience in process improvement and working through periods of change will be viewed favourably.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply a sound understanding of application development concepts and procedures to resolve reporting issues.
• Follow a consistent, standardised approach to report development to ensure accuracy, avoid duplication, and support future flexibility.
• Ensure Vermilion development standards are followed and actively contribute to their enhancement.
• Contribute to the development of best practices and processes for consistent report development across Vermilion.
• Deliver assigned work within agreed timescales and quality metrics.
• Support VRS BAU Lead and Project Lead with requirement gathering, effort estimation, technical design, development planning, and delivery.
• Provide feedback on potential interdependencies across departments, products, and projects.
• Produce technical specification documents in a timely manner for senior review.
• Ensure all documentation and operational guides are completed and approved by the VRS Development Manager.
• Build strong collaborative relationships with clients, technology partners, and operational teams to quickly understand requirements, resolve issues, suggest solutions, and identify opportunities for service improvement.

Required Skills & Knowledge

• Expertise in Vermilion Reporting Suite (VRS) development.
• Strong SQL and scripting skills.
• Strong technical analysis skills, with the ability to interpret complex data structures and reporting requirements.
• Experience working in Agile project delivery environments.
• Familiarity with all phases of client reporting, from requirements to production implementation.
• Ability to interpret BRDs and deliver solutions within agreed timeframes.
• Experience creating customised templates (connectors, data sources, components, sections).
• Experience building customised workflows (obligations, tasks, process flows).
• Strong knowledge of report generation and deployment processes.
• Prior experience with investment banking reporting and modules.
• Experience collaborating with data mart development teams.
• Familiarity with painter-based reporting solutions such as Vermilion Reporting Suite, Kurtosis, Crystal Reports designer, Tableau or similar
• Strong understanding of the end-to-end development lifecycle, including BRDs, testing, and delivery.
• Business analysis experience (ideally within IT).
• Experience working with non-technical end users and global clients.
• Hands-on experience using JIRA to manage sprints and development workloads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven hands-on experience in Vermilion Development or similar tools and large-scale reporting applications.
• Extensive experience within financial services, ideally in investment banking or software/reporting providers
