Job Overview
The People Engagement lead is a senior level position responsible for driving people priorities within Markets Operations, working closely with colleagues within Chief of Staff, Markets COO and HR. This role fosters a high-performance culture, develops talent, enhances employee engagement (Voice of the Employee - VOE), and ensures our people initiatives support the strategic priorities of Markets Operations
Responsibilities:
- Develop and inform the people strategy for Markets Operations, and take ownership for driving key initiatives
- Collaborate with HR, Learning & Development, Markets COO (e.g., Business Execution, People @ Markets, Risk and Control) and SMBIC Ops to effectively and efficiently implement people initiatives tailored for Markets Operations
- Champion initiatives to strengthen the risk culture within Markets Operations, including embedding top-down risk-culture initiatives, alongside Operations-specific needs
- Drive successful delivery of Human Capital Risk management topics in partnership with HR, including operations career pathways, job family reviews and broader firmwide talent processes
- Be the Voice of Employee (VOE) subject matter expert, including leading analysis of VOE feedback for Markets Operations and formulate actionable, effective, simple and/or creative responses to enhance engagement
- Facilitate the Markets Operations People Working Group, leveraging the group to drive initiatives aligned to our people priorities
- Identify on-the-ground employee engagement opportunities, aligned to our people priorities, for global head of Markets Operations during travel; advise the line-of-business chief of staff team regarding similar opportunities for the senior management team
- Develop monthly KPIs or other metrics/reporting to measure impact of efforts across People Engagement topics, regularly communicate to leadership and to inform forward strategy
- In partnership with Communications Lead, regularly communicate on initiatives in key internal forums at all levels, including the Markets Operations Senior Management Team
- Identify opportunities to leverage technology and tools, particularly AI, to deliver initiatives efficiently and creatively
- Assist Chief of Staff in executing our communications program, including supporting Communications lead during NAM operating hours (advising, writing, editing and distributing time-sensitive Markets-Operations communications) and partner on all-staff engagement (e.g., townhalls, all-hands)
- Support broader chief of staff team, as required, on critical or urgent initiatives
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Experience:
- 8-15 years of experience in related people-focused roles, preferably in financial services
- Proven track record in leading strategic people initiatives and programs
Skills:
- People acumen - ability to translate business strategy into actionable people initiatives
- Influencing & collaboration - strong stakeholder management, cross-functional and leadership skills
- Communication - exceptional verbal, written and presentation (ppt) skills; strong negotiation ability
- Proactive execution & organisation - capable of managing multiple priorities and complexities under pressure
- Analytical / problem solving - Strong data interpretation to draw actionable insights (HR data, VOE) and problem-solving skills; proficient in data visualization
- Technology savvy: Ability to leverage technology, including AI, for efficiency.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience (Human Resources, Business Administration, Organisational Psychology or related helpful)
- Master’s degree preferred (e.g. MBA)

$100,800.00 - $151,200.00
