Job Overview

About the Role

We are seeking an AI Solution Developer to join our team and drive the design, development, and deployment of intelligent solutions powered by Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs). This role sits at the intersection of technology, business transformation, operations and risk management, partnering with risk/control stakeholders to ensure responsible deployment.

This is a full-time position ideal for someone who thrives working independently and has a passion for applying emerging AI technologies to solve real-world problems.

Key Responsibilities

Generative AI & LLM Solution Development

  • Design, develop, and deploy production-grade AI solutions via our internal Citi Stylus platform. Apply advanced techniques, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agent development, prompt engineering, and fine-tuning strategies.
  • Lead use-case discovery sessions then evaluate, develop, and integrate appropriate solutions, while considering cost, complexity, latency, and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain dynamic knowledge graphs to map Wealth's intelligence assets, creating summaries and thematic reporting for strategic insights.
  • Develop robust prompt engineering frameworks and templates to ensure consistent, high-quality AI outputs.
  • Implement guardrails, content filtering, and output validation mechanisms to ensure responsible and compliant AI usage, particularly within financial services contexts.

Process Reengineering & Business Transformation

  • Partner with business stakeholders to analyze existing workflows and processes, identifying opportunities where AI can drive meaningful improvement.
  • Lead process reengineering initiatives — redesigning end-to-end workflows to natively incorporate AI capabilities rather than simply layering AI on top of legacy processes.
  • Create comprehensive documentation including solution blueprints, process maps, and technical guides to support knowledge sharing and change management efforts.

Independent Delivery & Technical Ownership

  • Independently manage the full solution lifecycle — from discovery and prototyping through development, testing, deployment, and iteration.
  • Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable prompts and instructions following best practices.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing through documentation, demos, and technical presentations.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 5+ years of professional experience in software development, solution architecture, consulting, operations, or a related technical or business improvement role, with demonstrated hands-on expertise building Generative AI/LLM solutions. Industry experience in financial services is strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of process analysis and reengineering. You've improved how teams or organizations work, not just what tools they use.

Technical Familiarity

  • Strong familiarity with LLMs. Understanding of how they work, their strengths, limitations, hallucination risks, and appropriate use cases.
  • Proficiency in conversational coding commonly used in AI development.
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering techniques and best practices.
  • Understanding of data privacy, security, and regulatory considerations relevant to AI in financial services.

Soft Skills & Working Style

  • Practical, results-driven mindset focused on outcomes over outputs; solutions-oriented.
  • Self-directed and autonomous, comfortable owning projects end-to-end with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to deconstruct complex problems and articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfort with ambiguity; you can navigate undefined problem spaces and shape them into structured initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with workflow automation tools and platforms (e.g., RPA, low-code/no-code platforms) as complementary to AI solutions.
  • Experience working in banking, capital markets, insurance, asset management, or other financial services domains.
  • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory frameworks (e.g., explainability requirements).

Education

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Optional Portfolio Submissions:
    • Examples of GenAI solutions you've built (demos, repos, or case studies)
    • Process reengineering examples with measurable outcomes
    • Technical writing or blog posts demonstrating your ability to communicate complex ideas
