Discover your future at Citi

Working at Citi is far more than just a job. A career with us means joining a team of approximately 219,000 dedicated people from around the globe. At Citi, you’ll have the opportunity to grow your career, give back to your community and make a real impact.

Job Overview

Citi is seeking a Lead Protective Intelligence Analyst to take ownership of executive-focused threat intelligence within its global security function, where your assessments will directly shape how senior leaders understand and manage their digital exposure. Sitting within Citi Security and Investigative Services — a full-service, in-house security and investigative team — this role leads the Protective Intelligence program's analytical output, covering digital footprint analysis, security threat assessments, and open source intelligence across surface, deep web, and dark web environments. Based in New York and operating across global teams, you will combine hands-on intelligence production with program leadership to deliver clear, high-impact intelligence products to Citi's most senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the production of executive-focused intelligence products, including Digital Footprint Analyses and Security Threat Assessments, to identify and reduce open-source exposure risk for senior leaders.
  • Monitor open sources, deep web, and dark web environments continuously to surface emerging threats, unusual activity, and risks relevant to executives and critical business operations.
  • Apply advanced OSINT techniques — including link analysis, digital identity mapping, and predictive assessments — to identify vulnerabilities and inform proactive security decisions.
  • Assess regional threat data and correlate findings against established intelligence requirements to ensure analytical output remains targeted and actionable.
  • Analyze threat patterns and present forward-looking assessments to senior leadership, clearly communicating both current risk exposure and anticipated impact.
  • Deliver polished executive briefings and written intelligence products that translate complex findings into clear recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Mentor analysts within the Protective Intelligence team, setting standards for analytical quality, data integrity, and professional development.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, law enforcement, industry peers, and external intelligence communities to strengthen the program's reach and effectiveness.

Required qualifications & skills

  • 6 to 10 years of experience in threat intelligence, protective intelligence, or a directly related security discipline.
  • Demonstrated expertise in open source intelligence collection and analysis, with applied experience across social media, deep web, and dark web environments.
  • Working knowledge in one or more of the following threat domains: Advanced Persistent Threats, cybercrime, malware, distributed denial of service attacks, fraud, mobile threats, extremist groups, hacktivism, or third-party risk.
  • Ability to communicate complex intelligence findings clearly and concisely in both written reports and verbal briefings to senior stakeholders.
  • Capability to influence outcomes and manage relationships across global, cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Strong analytical ability to identify patterns, assess risk, and produce recommendations at operational, tactical, and strategic levels.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Fluent English and Spanish is required

Beneficial skills & qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field such as intelligence studies, international security, or a related discipline.
  • Experience producing executive protection intelligence products, including travel security assessments or executive exposure evaluations.
  • Familiarity with analytical tools and technologies that support link analysis, digital identity mapping, or predictive threat modeling.
  • Established relationships with law enforcement agencies, intelligence communities, or financial sector information sharing groups.

What we offer

This is a senior role with genuine strategic influence — you will shape how one of the world's leading financial institutions protects its leadership, with the autonomy to lead a high-performing global program and the platform to advance your career in a performance-driven, collaborative environment.

  • A hybrid working model with 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely, giving you flexibility alongside meaningful in-person collaboration.
  • Strategic ownership of a global protective intelligence program, with direct visibility to senior leadership and measurable impact on executive security outcomes.
  • The opportunity to lead and develop a team of analysts, with accountability for professional growth and analytical excellence across the function.
  • Engagement with a broad network of intelligence partners, law enforcement agencies, and industry peers, expanding your professional reach at a global scale.
  • Access to learning and development resources that support continued growth in intelligence tradecraft, leadership, and emerging analytical technologies.
  • Competitive financial wellbeing benefits and support programs aligned to the seniority and scope of the role.
  • A collaborative team environment within Citi Security and Investigative Services, where your expertise directly contributes to protecting the firm's assets, integrity, and reputation.

Apply now to lead Citi's Protective Intelligence program and shape the intelligence products that protect the firm's most senior leaders on a global scale.
