This position is ideal for professionals with solid credit fundamentals who are ready to take on more complex analysis, gain broader exposure, and continue developing a career in credit risk within a global financial institution.

Role Overview

As a Credit Portfolio Analyst, you will support the credit lifecycle by analyzing financial information, preparing credit assessments, and ensuring the quality and completeness of credit application packages. You will work independently on most assignments, apply sound judgment, and contribute to timely and well‑informed credit decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Credit & Financial Analysis

  • Spread and analyze new, renewal, and interim financial statements, including business and individual tax returns, in line with internal guidelines
  • Support analysis of more complex financial statements (e.g., Not‑for‑Profit or specialized entities)
  • Prepare concise written analysis using customer, peer, portfolio, and industry data
  • Perform preliminary credit analysis across simple to moderately complex credits, including:
    • Cash flow and debt service coverage
    • Collateral analysis
    • Guarantor net worth assessment

Portfolio & Credit Support

  • Coordinate closely with Credit Officers, Credit Analysts, Credit Center staff, and Relationship Managers
  • Provide support and guidance on loan agreement and covenant interpretation and monitoring
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness, and readiness of credit packages prior to underwriting

Team Contribution

  • Provide guidance, training, and day‑to‑day support to junior Credit Analysts
  • Act as backup support to the Application Preparation team when required
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to portfolio analysis and credit processes

Risk & Controls

  • Apply appropriate risk judgment in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to safeguarding the firm, its clients, and its reputation through ethical behavior, policy adherence, and transparent escalation of issues

Qualifications & Experience

  • Advanced spoken English (written English desirable but not mandatory)
  • 2–5 years of experience in a financial institution with exposure to credit analysis, portfolio analysis, or credit spreading
  • Solid understanding of financial statements and accounting principles
  • Experience using credit spreading or analysis tools
  • Ability to synthesize data and communicate conclusions clearly
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
