Job Overview

The Data Quality Senior Lead is responsible for the strategic management and execution of continuous Data Quality standards, controls, and metrics. This role demands an experienced professional with exceptional project management capabilities, a profound understanding of data quality principles, technology lifecycle management, and acute business acumen. The successful candidate will be pivotal in aligning technology initiatives with data governance objectives, effectively mitigating risk, and ensuring significant operational impact through reliable data.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the tracking and execution of the technology book of work, ensuring alignment with overall data strategy and technology roadmap to optimize data quality principles

  • Consolidate and deliver business requirements using process simplification, enhanced controls, and business-agnostic principles

  • Lead user acceptance testing and plan operational readiness activities including communications and operating procedures

  • Provide leadership and oversight for technology enhancements, ensuring adherence to best practices in project management and data governance policy

  • Translate complex technical risks into clear business implications for senior leadership, facilitating informed decision-making

  • Proactively identify opportunities to optimize operational processes and enhance business value through technology solutions

  • Ensure that all technology deliveries are designed and implemented with a focus on operational stability, scalability, and resilience

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for senior leadership and key stakeholders, providing regular updates on portfolio status, risks, and strategic alignment

  • Negotiate and resolve conflicts, building consensus among diverse stakeholder groups to drive project success

  • Create presentation materials to support senior management strategic vision

  • Track open defects and deferred enhancements

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable rules, laws, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgement regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating managing and reporting control issues with transparency

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience within financial services in a large, matrixed, multinational organization with at least 5 years in a senior project management role.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing technology projects for business teams, from requirements to testing to go-live readiness preparation. 

  • Experience in process design, root cause analysis, process re-engineering and process improvement is a must.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand business drivers, assess operational risks, and evaluate the business impact of technology decisions.

  • Experience in designing and implementing data quality requirements and operating models and partnering with technology for tool development.

  • Strong leadership qualities with experience in leading diverse teams and fostering professional growth.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  • Strong banking operations knowledge.

  • Extremely organized, motivated and analytical.

  • Constructively challenge existing processes and seek out answers.

Education:

  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
