Job Purpose:

A solution driven role to help resolve on-boarding, documentation, regulatory or other infrastructure issues preventing our key customers either growing or enhancing business with the Markets division. 

  • Support Markets Sales to address and resolve client issues pertaining to Onboarding, KYC (Know Your Customer), Legal Documentation (e.g. ISDAs/CSAs), and regulatory initiatives.
  • Coordinate with internal teams in developing and driving the client experience. The role will focus on Citi's global markets Japanese client requests by helping to manage, develop and drive the regulatory client on-boarding & documentation process to enable fast and efficient completion.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary function is to improve the service and experience offered to our Japanese customers. As such the candidate is expected to:

  • Work closely with Markets Sales, Relationship Management and clients to support all aspects of the client and sales lifecycle. 
  • Support proxy KYC owner and coverage sales and liaise with clients and operations for timely completion of KYC renewal.
  • Become the point of contact for our Japanese clients with respect to smooth transition of pre-execution process by ensuring coordination of KYC, Onboarding, Credit, Legal, regulatory and Operational efforts needed to get the client ready to trade with Citi.
  • Be the FLOD point of expertise for risk issues and drive risk knowledge transfer and awareness within the business with a focus on Japan.
  • Develop and implement client driven solutions to enhance the client experience through the trade lifecycle by working closely with coverage sales and other business support functions.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in banking or financial sector, ideally in client relationship management, operations, KYC/AML, risk or product management
  • Knowledge of Markets products, legal documentation (ISDA/CSAs GMRAs etc.), trade flows, client onboarding procedures, KYC/AML, or CLM will be a plus. 

Skills & Competencies:

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills with strong conflict management ability
  • Highly motivated, self-starter who is able to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to drive the decision process with a limited level of direct supervision and to prioritize multiple tasks based on materiality.
  • Team player, fast thinker/quick learner, possess the ability to work effectively under pressure in a rapidly changing environment to meet tight deadlines.
  • Able to manage routine processes with precision and ad hoc projects with flexibility and creativity.
  • Native level of Japanese proficiency
  • Good PC skills essential to quickly learn the variety of in-house trading and related systems. Efficient and effective use of office software (including spreadsheets and databases)
  • Process management skills an advantage.
  • Education: Degree preferred

Job Background/ Development Value:

This role reports into Japan Markets Sales Management and will reside within First Line Client Specialist. It offers opportunities to work closely with the Sales & Trading desks, building technical product knowledge & understanding of end-to-end infrastructure.

This is a unique and challenging role that provides exposure to clients, to various product and control groups as well as visibility from senior business leaders, with a focus on enhancing the client experience.
