Citi is seeking an accomplished Senior Vice President, Engineering Manager to lead high-performancedevelopment teams within our Risk & Capital Technology organization. This role sits at the heart of how Citimanages counterparty exposure — you will own the technical direction and people leadership behind the softwareplatform that Risk Officers & Finance Controllers rely on every day to manage the firm's exposure to financialinstitutions, governments, and corporates that trade with Citi.

Your Role and Impact


As the Engineering Manager for Risk & Capital Technology, you will lead multiple teams of software engineers andanalysts, providing both the technical oversight and people leadership needed to deliver a complete RegulatoryReporting platform. You will ensure the architecture and design of every application under your remit meets Citi'sengineering standards, while also acting as a hands-on advisor and coach to the engineers building it.
Your impact will extend beyond day-to-day delivery. You will help define how the team works — introducingmodern engineering practices, evaluating and adopting emerging technologies and AI-assisted developmenttools, and building the technical capability of the broader organization. You will also carry real accountability forresourcing, budget, and planning, while representing the team's technical direction to senior stakeholders acrossthe firm and, where needed, external parties.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple teams of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions)
  • Provide technical leadership and development oversight to the wider team of Software Engineers/Analyst. Ensure application design adheres to the appropriate architectural and design patterns in the systems.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and AI tools (Devin, Co-Pilot etc) that can enhance our credit risk management product offerings and development processes.
  • Provide strategic influence and exercise control over resources, budget management and planning while monitoring end results.
  • Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level/junior developers and analysts, helping build the overall engineering capabilities of the team.
  • Drive continuous improvement of engineering standards and processes to make the team more capable andefficient.
  • Collaborate effectively with a large, global team of software engineers, business analysts, DevOps, andsupport staff to deliver software solutions for the business.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within your own area, along with a working knowledgeof adjacent areas, to resolve complex issues.
  • Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute directly to defining engineering standards.
  • Integrate in-depth application development expertise with the broader technology function to achieveestablished organizational goals.
  • Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions, and communicate with external parties asnecessary.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience in designing and developing robust, scalable, and maintainable applications applying Object Oriented Design principles.
  • A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience, managing multiple development teams.
  • Proven experience in leveraging AI/ML tools and technologies for software development using effective prompting in building large-scale, high-performance applications.
  • Prior experience in banking domain. Working knowledge of Capital Markets and Credit Risk is a plus.
  • Exposure to architecting and building horizontally scalable, highly available, highly resilient and performant applications

Skills:

Extensive experience working with most if not all the technologies listed below:

  • Java Core with extensive hands-on experience with concurrent programming.
  • Spring Framework including Core, Integration, Batch, JDBC, Hibernate.
  • Familiarity with AI tools; like Copilot, Devin, etc.; for software development. Familiarity with Agentic AI tools.
  • Databases - RDBMS preferably Oracle, NoSQL preferably MongoDB.
  • Familiarity with Linux environment including scripting skills.
  • SDLC/Dev Ops - Git/BitBucket, CI/CD pipeline frameworks such as Jenkins, SonarQube, JIRA, Any secure coding toolkits.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
