Job Overview

The Securities & Derivatives is an SME/Checker level position responsible for providing full leadership and direction to a team of employees in an effort to process orders and transactions originating from trading desks and branch offices in coordination with the Operations - Transaction Services team. The overall objective of this role is to ensure the seamless delivery of securities and derivatives transactions.   

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise operating efficiency and ensure the entire team meets performance and quality expectations of assigned tasks

  • Evaluate team performance and make recommendations for pay increases, promotions, terminations, staffing, etc.

  • Resolve escalated issues and provide appropriate closure to those problems

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, including service or technology enhancements and train staff on all changes

  • Analyze data to identify control deficiencies and resolve discovered issues through implementing appropriate procedures

  • Identify control deficiencies and implement appropriate procedures

  • Serve as backup for manager as required

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards. 

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience

  • Experience in people management

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Skills Required:

  • Required 7-8 Years of exp. on Banking Operations, with minimum 3/4 years of Investments Banking products and process work Experience.

  • Product exposure and experience required on any/most of Investments products like, Equities, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Structured Notes, Derivatives.

  • Having work experience or familiar with Market Data Services platforms like Bloomberg, Reuters, Telekurs, AA Stocks.

  • Should have work experience on Asset Setup or Security Setup or Fund Setup.

  • Should have work experience on Reference Data or Static Data process for above products.

  • Should have knowledge on Price update and Price exception handling on Variance and Stale Price management.

  • Should have exposure and good understanding on various Asset Class / Asset Type of Equities, Fixed Income, Bonds.

  • Should have knowledge or work experience on Interest basis calculation methods on Asset Class/Asset Types.

  • Should have good understanding about the Trade Life Cycle of IB products.

  • Added advantage if possess work experience or market exposure with various custody platforms like Clearstream, Euroclear, BONY, Fedwire, DTCC, MAS, CDP, AUSTRACLEAR etc.
