Ops Sup Analyst 1 - C09
- The Ops Sup Analyst 1 is an entry-level position in Retail Bank Operations and is a critical role dedicated to upholding the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and operational integrity within a retail banking environment. This position acts as a crucial control point, ensuring that all customer transactions, internal processes, and documentation strictly adhere to both internal bank policies and external regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
A Quality Checker role in retail bank operations demands meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy to ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and maintain service excellence. Key responsibilities typically include:
- Transaction Verification: Scrutinizing a wide range of retail banking transactions (e.g., account opening, loan applications, fund transfers, customer data updates) to ensure they are processed correctly and completely according to established policies and procedures.
- Compliance Adherence: Verifying that all operations comply with internal bank policies, industry regulations (e.g., KYC, AML), and legal requirements. This involves checking for correct documentation, approvals, and data entry.
- Error Identification & Reporting: Identifying discrepancies, errors, omissions, or inconsistencies in documentation, data, and process execution. Documenting findings accurately and reporting them to relevant stakeholders for correction and process improvement.
- Root Cause Analysis (Assisting): Assisting in the analysis of identified errors to determine their root causes, which helps in preventing recurrence and improving overall operational efficiency.
- Process Improvement Suggestions: Providing feedback and suggestions for enhancing existing processes, controls, and training programs based on audit findings to improve quality and reduce errors.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining thorough and organized records of all quality checks performed, including findings, resolutions, and follow-up actions.
- Adherence to SLAs: Ensuring that quality checks are completed within defined service level agreements (SLAs) without compromising accuracy.
- Training and Guidance: Potentially providing guidance or training to operational staff on best practices, common errors, and policy updates to foster a culture of quality.
This role is crucial for safeguarding the bank's reputation, financial integrity, and customer trust by ensuring that all retail banking activities are executed flawlessly.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of relevant experience
- Retail Banking Operations: Previous experience in retail banking operations, back-office processing, or a similar role is usually required. This provides familiarity with banking products, services, processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Quality Assurance/Control: Experience in a quality assurance, quality control, or auditing function, preferably within the financial services industry, is highly valued.
- Data Entry/Processing: Experience with high-volume data entry and processing, demonstrating an understanding of accuracy and efficiency.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent (12+3 years of education)
