Job Overview

The Applications Development Technology Lead is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

• Leading the design and development of scalable, resilient, and performant Java applications, including defining the overall architecture, choosing appropriate technologies.
• Monitor and control all phases of development process - analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business users.
• Actively participating in coding complex features, conducting code reviews to ensure quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices.
• Troubleshooting critical technical issues, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions. Providing technical guidance and support to the development team.
• Identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks in the application, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
• Implementing and enforcing security best practices throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring the application is protected against vulnerabilities.
• Conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology, applications development, model development, and establish and implement new or revised applications systems and programs to meet specific business needs or user areas
• Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower-level analysts
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Recommended Qualifications:

• 8-12 years of experience as a Fullstack Development Lead with Java and Cloud Technologies, working on significant distributed midrange applications.
• Proven expertise in frontend technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React).
• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and related backend technologies for building robust and scalable applications.
• Experience designing and developing Microservices and APIs, integrating with third-party services, and ensuring seamless data flow between frontend and backend systems.
• Proficiency in Trunk-Based Development using Git and experience with database design and development, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Working knowledge of consulting and project management techniques and methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
• Master’s degree preferred
