In this role, you will take ownership of end-to-end ETL development using Ab Initio, set the standard for data quality and governance practices, and work directly with stakeholders across the business to translate complex requirements into production-grade pipelines. - Build and deploy robust data integration solutions that streamline data flows between source systems and downstream reporting and analytics platforms.
- Write and tune advanced SQL and PL/SQL queries against Oracle and relational databases to support accurate and performant data processing.
- Drive data governance and data quality best practices across the integration landscape, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data assets.
- Oversee code migration, version control, and environment infrastructure setups including private and public sandboxes and EME permissions management.
- Translate functional requirements from business stakeholders, data architects, and project managers into clear and implementable technical specifications.
- Investigate, analyse, and resolve L2 production issues, maintaining the stability and continuity of live data pipelines.
- Manage the full data application development lifecycle — from technical planning and feasibility assessment through to testing, implementation, and ongoing production support.
Required qualifications & skills
* Core Ab Initio Expertise: 6+ years of hands-on experience with Ab Initio GDE, Co>Operating System, Express>It, Conduct>It, and EME.
* Database & SQL: Strong proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries in Oracle DB.
* OS & Scripting: Strong working knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating systems and shell scripting (Bash, Korn shell).
* Data Warehousing Concepts: Deep understanding of dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, and enterprise data warehouse architectures.
* Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot job failures, resolve performance bottlenecks, and manage root-cause analysis in high-volume production environments.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools, version control (Git), and agile software development methodologies.
Beneficial skills & qualifications
- Expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs) including OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, Llama, and local/open source models
- Hands-on experience in Python for data ingestion, transformation.
- Experience working with cloud-native data platforms or migrating ETL workloads from on-premise environments to modern data infrastructure.
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks, metadata management practices, or data quality tooling within large-scale enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with project management or consulting approaches applied in a technology delivery context.
