Job Overview

This is a seasoned professional role within Citibank's North America Credit Operations Organization. The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert in credit reporting and data furnishing, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data reported to Credit Reporting Agencies (CRAs). This role is critical in maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and safeguarding Citigroup's reputation.

The position requires an individual with deep expertise in the Metro 2 reporting format, extensive experience with data furnishing to CRAs, and a strong background in commercial credit. The analyst will lead the annual Data Reporting Reviews (DRRs), analyze complex data discrepancies, and drive remediation efforts with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Credit Reporting and Data Furnishing:
    • Lead and manage the end-to-end process of data furnishing to consumer and commercial CRAs, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for all CRAs for data reporting matters, including the management of the annual Data Reporting Review (DRR) schedule.
    • Utilize advanced knowledge of the Metro 2 reporting tool and format to troubleshoot and resolve complex reporting issues.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Reporting:
    • Ensure all credit reporting activities are in strict compliance with regulatory requirements, including FCRA, and internal policies.
    • Prepare and present reports to regulators, auditors, and internal risk management committees on credit reporting performance, data quality, and compliance.
    • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with credit reporting and data furnishing.
  • Data Analysis and Root Cause Identification:
    • Conduct in-depth analysis of data discrepancies between Citi's internal records and CRA data, identifying root causes of errors.
    • Collaborate with business, technology, and data management teams to implement corrective actions and process improvements.
    • Develop and maintain robust data quality monitoring and reporting to track performance and identify emerging trends.
  • Stakeholder Management and Leadership:
    • Socialize DRR findings and remediation plans with senior internal stakeholders, including Legal, Compliance, Risk, and business line leaders.
    • Facilitate and lead meetings with business and technology partners to drive alignment and action on credit reporting initiatives.
    • Provide informal leadership, coaching, and training to new and junior team members to build a high-performing team.

Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of experience in a similar role within the financial services industry, with a focus on credit reporting, data management, or risk and control.
  • Direct experience with commercial credit products and their associated credit reporting requirements is mandatory.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing relationships with CRAs and external auditors.
  • Demonstrated experience in reporting to regulators and navigating the complexities of the regulatory landscape.
  • Expert-level knowledge of the Metro 2 reporting format and associated tools is required.
  • In-depth understanding of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and other relevant regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large and complex datasets.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues to a diverse audience.
  • Proficiency in the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Bachelor's/University degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
