Job Overview

About the Role

Citi Security and Investigative Services (CSIS) is a full-service security and investigative team that protects the assets, integrity and reputation of Citi and its clients.

In a world of increasing complexity and uncertainty, CSIS Crisis Management is responsible for designing and maintaining Citi’s all-threats Crisis Management program. The program covers the complete crisis management lifecycle from Readiness to Response through to Recovery and Review and is activated during crisis events to provide notifications, escalation, and coordination of Citi corporate resources to help resolve emergencies.

CSIS Crisis Management is building a strategic execution hub in Charlotte and is looking for a seasoned professional to lead day-to-day crisis response and readiness efforts across the Americas. This Crisis Management Execution Lead role is a senior individual contributor and regional leader responsible for the end-to-end execution of Citi’s crisis management program.  Reporting to the Global Crisis Management Execution Head, this is a high-visibility, high-impact position for a crisis management professional looking to make a tangible difference in a large, complex global organization.

What You’ll Do:

Your responsibilities will span the full crisis management lifecycle:

  • Ensure country-level Crisis Management Plans and other required components are maintained across assigned geography, aligned with Citi’s Crisis Management program standards
  • Contribute to the development and execution of training exercises and plan updates to improve Citi’s response to disruptive events and emerging threats
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal partners including CSIS Intelligence, Enterprise Resiliency, Cybersecurity, and Technology to drive a seamless, integrated crisis response
  • Monitor the threat landscape by engaging directly with Crisis Management Threat and Horizon Planning, CSIS functions, and local Crisis Management Coordinators to stay appraised of emerging threats and ensure potential risks are proactively assessed
  • Support regional crisis response by managing day-to-day functions and execution efforts in support of crisis management program activities across the Americas where Citi has a business presence or operations, ensuring effective and timely execution of the global crisis management framework
  • Advise geographic leadership, Crisis Management Teams, and Crisis Commanders (up to Managing Director Level) during unfolding events, acting as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert to guide critical decisions under pressure
  • Uphold program governance standards by ensuring all crisis plans, responses, coordination, and communication consistently adhere to the Crisis Management structure
  • Develop and review thorough after-action reporting, identifying and evaluating lessons learned, and managing updates to Crisis Management methodology to drive continuous improvement following crisis events and tabletop exercises

What We’re Looking For:

This role requires deep expertise in crisis management.  The successful candidate will also possess a strong understanding of related disciplines such as enterprise/operational resilience, business continuity, and corporate security.

  • 10+ years of demonstratable experience working virtually in crisis management within a large, complex, and regulated global organization, preferably in the financial services sector
  • Deep understanding of crisis management principles, incident response frameworks, corporate security practices and structures, and experience with crisis management tools
  • Proven track record of leading the response to significant, real-world crisis events (e.g., geopolitical instability, natural disasters, security incidents, complex operational failures, technology disruptions)
  • Leadership with compassion, demonstrating composure and emotional intelligence, especially during a crisis
  • Demonstratable experience in briefing and influencing senior leadership in high-stakes, time sensitive situations
  • Ability to inform and influence senior and executive leadership during crisis response as a trusted advisor
  • Resourceful self-starter, able to work effectively in a highly dynamic, complex, and stressful environment
  • Outstanding project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, deliverables, and shifting priorities concurrently with minimal supervision while remaining team-oriented
  • Strong interpersonal skills and display an ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels in the organization
  • Exceptional execution capability, showing a strong sense of ownership to ensure processes and deliverables are completed in a timely and well-organized manner
  • Professional fluency in Spanish is highly desirable to effectively coordinate crisis management activities across the full scope of the Americas geography
  • Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of emerging technologies, including the potential application of Citi’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools for threat intelligence, crisis monitoring, process optimization, and day-to-day efficiency
  • Flexibility to work traditional and non-traditional hours as determined operational needs and crisis events
