Team/Role Overview

Citi's Issuer and Investor Services - Middle Office Operations team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Securities and Derivatives Senior Analyst. This senior-level Assistant Vice President role is at the heart of our transaction services, responsible for the seamless processing of orders and transactions from trading desks and branch offices. The successful candidate will play a critical role in facilitating our collateral management, transaction processing, regulatory reporting, and payment processing functions. What you will do:

• Spearhead the resolution of complex process issues by conducting in-depth evaluations of securities processing procedures and industry standards.
• Manage the end-to-end processing and investigation of client securities, FX, and over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives transactions.
• Oversee daily and monthly collateral management activities, including agreeing on upcoming payments with counterparties to mitigate risk.
• Ensure client compliance with key regulatory requirements, providing subject matter expertise on EMIR and SFTR reporting.
• Execute accurate and timely payment processing by confirming all upcoming payments with various counterparties.
• Investigate and resolve reconciliation breaks identified by the Reconciliation team, spanning both external (counterparty) and internal (system-to-system) discrepancies.
• Mentor and provide expert guidance to junior analysts, fostering their professional development and contributing to a high-performance team culture.
• Drive and support key business change initiatives, including new client onboarding and the launch of new products.
• Participate in the testing and implementation of new systems and solutions, such as enhancements to platforms like Aladdin.
• Proactively identify opportunities for automation and enhance controls by developing and maintaining advanced Excel-based tools.
• Uphold a strong risk and control mindset by appropriately assessing risk in business decisions, safeguarding Citi’s assets, and ensuring adherence to all laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to ensure all team processes align with audit and control policies, and maintain comprehensive desktop manuals.

What we will need from you:

• 5-8 years of relevant experience in a Middle Office, Collateral Management, or Securities Operations role.
• In-depth knowledge of securities, foreign exchange (FX), and OTC derivatives products and life cycles.
• Proven ability to analyze complex problems, streamline processes, and implement effective solutions.
• Strong understanding of risk and control frameworks within the financial services industry.
• Consistently demonstrates clear, concise, and professional written and verbal communication skills.

• Preferred:
• Direct experience with regulatory reporting standards such as EMIR and SFTR is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with industry platforms like Aladdin.
• Proficiency in creating automation tools using Excel (VBA, Macros).
• Experience in mentoring junior staff or leading small project teams.
