Job Overview

EMEA Regulatory Reporting Citi Service Centre (CSC) in Budapest is a key part of the Finance function. It is Citi’s pioneering centre on a global scale where local regulatory reporting professionals work together in a central location, to ensure consistent quality of local regulatory reporting across multiple jurisdictions and legal vehicles.

The Transformation and Digital Team in B&I Controllers is part of the Regional Controllers organization and is responsible for managing various digital initiatives and driving transformation. The team seeks to be a catalyst for change and drive global end-to-end process transformation in partnership with other Finance functions and disciplines. The role of The Digital Solution Design Team within the Automation Team is to expedite the reengineering and transformation activities in order to streamline development and explore new solutions.

The role would be imperative in executing on the strategy defined by the Digital Solutions Design Lead and driving the Reporting Team/Technology collaboration, resulting in more accurate requirements and less Reporting Team involvement during automation. The Team would act as an Internal Consultation Group for Reporting Teams during reengineering of current solutions and will be key in having the standard requirements and any necessary artifacts created. The role would also involve the coaching and mentoring of Digital Solutions Sr. Analysts on various parallel projects.

The role is specialized in accelerating the reengineering process of current End User Computing (EUC) solutions via:

  • Stakeholder management with: Reporting Teams, Technology Teams
  • Definition and creation of the Automation Roadmap, assistance/ownership of requirement gathering and creation through interviews and consultations
  • Driving and owning of multiple cross functional team projects
  • Supporting the Reporting Teams with fit-for-purpose assessment of tools and modules
  • Being part of Technology discussions for potential new tools and automation products for the Reporting Teams
  • Highlighting additional standard (modular) automation options for adjustments, controls, analysis
  • Coaching and mentoring of new team members

The ideal candidate for this position preferably possesses the following qualifications and skills:

  • 8+ years in financial or risk reporting, technology, or system implementation roles
  • Experience in Business Analysis and with Data transformation tools (e.g. KNIME, Alteryx and similar to these) and/or with Reporting (preferably Regulatory Reporting)
  • Strategic solution mindset, being able to understand the big picture and translate it to bite sized pieces
  • Understanding of the SCRUM/KANBAN framework, agile mindset
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to manage stakeholder relationships across various levels of Seniority
  • Experience with leading, managing, and motivating agile PODs/teams (on-site and remotely)
  • Apply analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies for the purpose of automating regulatory report creation for financial regulators, as well as to standardize the solutions
  • Identify and anticipate issues, raise them in a timely manner to the Digital Solutions Design Lead
  • Be able to pay attention to details while keeping the overview
  • Technology literacy is essential, reporting experience is a plus (preferably Regulatory Reporting)
  • Advanced MS Excel and MS PowerPoint knowledge
  • Fluent English knowledge
  • Has working knowledge or motivation to pick up industry practices and standards (financial products, markets, accounting principles, understanding of regulatory frameworks)
  • Excellent relational, communication and presentation skills (high level of PowerPoint competency and visual storytelling skills required)

Responsibilities:

  • Execute on the defined automation strategy/allocated tasks and expedite the automation process: reengineering, requirement gathering and testing
  • Partner with Reporting Teams to understand their processes and how they can be streamlined in a way that enhances controls, creates efficiencies, and drives business growth, create up to standard requirements which minimize the need for change requests
  • Ensure close collaboration with stakeholders: managing them in terms of expectations, dependencies and buy-in, keeping them up to date with progress
  • Participate in prioritization discussions in relation to feasibility assessment and readiness
  • Identify gaps and propose solutions to overcome them
  • Coach and mentor new joiners to the Team
  • Explore new tools and solutions to enhance user experience (e.g. AI Tools in Citi)
