Citi Security and Investigative Services (CSIS) protects Citi and its clients' assets and reputation as the industry-leading security, investigations, and intelligence provider. We conduct fraud, cyber, and internal investigations, physical security, crisis management, intelligence, and executive protection for Citigroup, its subsidiaries, and legacy companies worldwide. Our Business Analytics team, part of the CSIS Chief Operations Office, provides data-driven insights and actionable solutions to support strategic decision-making for Citi and CSIS leadership.

We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled Data Analytics Lead Analyst who is passionate about transforming data into actionable insights. This role requires hands-on experience with at least one of the leading BI tools—IBM Cognos Analytics or Tableau to design, develop, and deliver high-quality reports and dashboards that support strategic and operational decision-making across the organization. The analyst will work closely with business users, data engineers, and analysts to understand data requirements and create intuitive visualizations that meet evolving business needs.  The analyst will collaborate with stakeholders to design, develop and deliver impactful dashboards and reports that drive business insights and decision-making. 

The Analyst will report to the CSIS Data Analytics Group Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build high-impact dashboards, visualizations, and operational reports using Cognos and/or Tableau based on complex business requirements.

  • Serve as a technical lead on BI projects, providing guidance on architecture, data modeling, and visualization standards.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels—including executives—to understand KPIs, metrics, and data insights needed to drive business decisions.

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize semantic models (e.g., Cognos Framework Manager, Tableau data sources) for enterprise reporting.

  • Implement best practices in data visualization, dashboard usability, and performance tuning.

  • Partner with data engineers to integrate and transform data from various sources into a unified reporting layer.

  • Perform advanced data analysis and QA testing to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with business definitions.

  • Establish and enforce data governance, access control, and report lifecycle management.

  • Create documentation, user guides, and training materials to support BI adoption.

  • Stay current with BI technology trends, and proactively recommend tools, features, or methodologies that improve business intelligence capabilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.

  • 6+ years of experience in BI/report development with hands-on expertise in one or more tools: IBM Cognos Analytics or Tableau

  • Strong command of SQL and experience querying large datasets across different relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, PostgreSQL).

  • Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL concepts, and reporting architectures (e.g., star/snowflake schemas).

  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools like SSIS, Informatica, Azure Data Factory, or dbt.

  • BI certifications (e.g., Tableau Certified ProfessionalIBM Certified Developer – Cognos Analytics).

  • Experience managing projects in Agile/Scrum environments.

  • Strong operational knowledge of Microsoft Tools, primarily Excel would be desired skillset

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work with both technical teams and business users.
