Job Overview

Individuals in Monitoring & Testing are responsible for validating that a control is adequately designed and effectively operating to mitigate associated risks. This includes performing Control Design Assessments (CDA), designing and assessing Monitoring & Testing tools (OEM/OET), executing Operational Effectiveness Monitoring/Testing, and ensuring sustainability for issue closure. This role provides leadership and direction through a large team of professionals and/or junior managers.

Responsibilities:

• Provides leadership and direction through a large team of professionals and/or junior managers.
• Provides leadership to drive optimization and efficiencies in control monitoring and testing projects.
• Assists management in guiding and influencing decisions that conform to business objectives.
• Responsible for the quality, completeness, and accuracy of the implementation of the Control Framework, specifically as it relates to control testing.
• Develops and executes Monitoring and Testing for controls, including control design assessment, design of operational effectiveness for monitoring & testing tools, and execution of the monitoring/testing tool.
• Regularly reports on control effectiveness to top management and relevant stakeholders.
• Maintains proficient knowledge of regulatory guidance specific to the monitoring/testing lifecycle.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of teams and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

• Experience in operational risk management, compliance, audit, or other control-related functions.
• Track record leading Control related projects and programs.
• Expert knowledge in the development and execution for controls, including CDA and OET.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Citi's businesses and functions and their risk profiles.
• Requires an ability to provide challenge and make recommendations for risk and controls remediation.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex risk and control activities.

Education:

• Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred.
