In this Vice President role, you will shape and deliver the risk and control framework that protects clients and upholds market integrity across a globally connected trading and markets business. Your work will directly inform senior decision-making, strengthen governance, and ensure that conduct and compliance risks are identified, assessed, and managed with precision.

  • Analyse data from risk monitoring activities to surface meaningful trends, emerging risks, and patterns, translating findings into concise insights that inform senior management decisions.
  • Support business stakeholders in conducting focused deep dives on emerging risk and control gaps, applying specialist product and control knowledge to drive timely resolution.
  • Coordinate periodic risk appetite assessments, ensuring compliance risk exposures are identified, measured, monitored, and escalated to the appropriate governance forums.
  • Build and sustain effective working relationships with Front Office, Compliance, Operational Risk, and Internal Audit teams across local and global markets.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource on customer protection and market practices risk, providing guidance and direction to stakeholders across all three lines of defence.
  • Proactively identify risks, issues, and dependencies within a complex organisational environment, escalating concerns appropriately and ensuring timely resolution.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Background in a risk management, compliance, or controls-focused role within financial services, with demonstrated ability to manage risk end-to-end.
  • Solid knowledge of risk management practices, encompassing risk identification, control evaluation, monitoring frameworks, and regulatory reporting.
  • Analytical and data-driven approach to problem-solving, with the ability to interpret complex outputs and translate them into clear, structured recommendations.
  • Hands-on experience using SQL, Python, or Excel VBA for risk analysis, supported by a background in database administration and risk and control management systems within financial services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce high-quality reporting and present findings confidently to senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to navigate a large, matrixed organisation and collaborate effectively with regional and global partners across multiple functional areas.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with a track record of working constructively across business units, legal, compliance, and audit functions.
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and organised, with the capacity to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent university-level qualification.
