Job Overview
The Business Senior Analyst is a seasoned professional role responsible for supporting the Wholesale Lending Control Environment thematic analysis and oversight as well as other key strategic initiatives and projects. This role is critical to strengthening the risk and control environment across Wholesale Lending by providing a central point of coordination with the Business Execution team. The individual will work across various business and functions to analyze multiple data elements impacting the lending portfolio, identifying common themes to increase transparency of risk exposures and proactively resolve issues. This position requires strong analytical skills, a proactive approach, and an agile mindset to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, proactive, and experienced with excellent communication and analytical skills. They should possess a strong understanding of the financial services industry, wholesale loans, risk management, and regulatory compliance. The role demands an ability to extract meaningful data insights from complex datasets and present them in a structured and clear manner. Experience with leveraging AI tools and methodologies for enhanced efficiency and analysis is highly desirable. All work must be handled with the utmost confidentiality.
Responsibilities:
- Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies within the Wholesale Lending Control Environment, generating actionable data insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Manage tasks and responsibilities associated with the planning, directing, coordination, and support of day-to-day business initiatives, applying an agile approach to execution.
- Identify opportunities for enhanced efficiency through process improvements and resource alignment, leveraging data insights and potentially AI-driven solutions for optimization.
- Support ad hoc and key strategic initiatives and projects as directed by business leadership, applying strong business management principles.
- Establish strong relationships with relevant stakeholders across various business and functions, in providing a broad understanding of the organization while building relationships throughout Citi.
- Proactively identify and drive resolution of issues; maintain a disciplined follow-up and tracking approach for any open items by working closely with relevant teams.
- Analyze and synthesize complex information to make informed decisions, translating raw data into structured and clear data insights.
- Facilitate the sharing of best practices and insights across business teams and Client CAO
- Drive and influence management discussions, strategy, and approach, leveraging data insights to support recommendations.
- Focus on continuous control improvements across all areas to ensure continued improvement of the control framework in an efficient, cost-effective, streamlined, and value-add manner, exploring the use of AI for advanced control mechanisms.
Qualifications:
- Extensive years of relevant experience
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex concepts in a concise manner and a track record of managing and reviewing large projects in complex operational environments, with a focus on delivering data insights.
- Ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, highly matrix, dynamic environment and to work effectively in a cross-functional organization, demonstrating an agile approach.
- Proficiency in extracting, analyzing, and interpreting data insights from various sources.
- Familiarity with applying AI solution for enhanced efficiency and deeper analysis in a structured manner
- Confident presence with strong oral and written communication skills, including proven experience in developing senior executive presentations, communications, and concise updates/ talking points.
- Self-starter who can work independently and with limited supervision and ability to balance strategic priorities with tactical actions, maintaining a proactive stance.
- Quick learner, with ability to understand complex requirements and translate into clear and simple guidance.
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, Masters degree preferred
