Team/Role Overview

The Shared Controls Group (SCG) exists to support the Markets business globally through the efficient execution of controls and processes that are common across region, product, and risk category. This role sits at the intersection ofartificial intelligence and operational excellence— you willbe responsible foridentifying, designing, and deliveringAI-powered automation solutionsthat transform how the SCG operates. From intelligent document processing and automating time-consuming, manual tasks you will lead the charge in embedding AI across our control functions.

What You'll Do

• Identify &PrioritiseAI Automation Opportunities:Partner with global business stakeholders to assess existing processes, pinpoint high-impact use cases for AI and machinelearning, andbuild a strategic automation pipeline.

• Design & Deploy AI Solutions:Leveragemodern AI/ML frameworks — including large language models (LLMs), natural language processing (NLP), and robotic process automation (RPA) — to build and deploy intelligent, scalable automation solutions.

• Collaborate with Technology Partners:Work closely with technology teams, collaborating in the development, testing, and production deployment of AI-driven automation projects.

• Champion AI Adoption & Literacy:Lead education initiatives, workshops, and proof-of-concept demonstrations to drive adoption of AI tools and an automation-first mindset across the Shared Controls Group.

• Ensure Responsible AI Practices:Embed governance, explainability, and ethical considerations into every AI solution, ensuring alignment with Citi's responsible AI framework and regulatory requirements.

• Stay at the Cutting Edge:Continuously evaluate emerging AI technologies, tools, and industry trends (e.g., agentic AI, retrieval-augmented generation, multi-modal models) and assess their applicability to SCG operations.

What We'll Need from You

Core Requirements

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for applying AI to real-world business challenges.

• Hands-on experience with AI/ML technologies, including at least some of the following: large language models (e.g., GPT, Claude, Gemini), NLP, computer vision, or predictive modelling.

• Proficiencyin Pythonand familiarity with key AI/ML libraries and frameworks.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to translate complex AI concepts for non-technical audiences and confidently present to senior stakeholders.

• Experience inproject management and delivery, with the ability to lead initiatives from ideationthrough toproduction deployment.

• Experience leading or mentoring small teams.

• Bachelor's/University degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance) or equivalent professional experience.

Advantageous Skills

• Experience withRobotic Process Automation (RPA)platforms (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism).

• Skills inBusiness Intelligence and datavisualisationtoolssuch as Power BI and/or Tableau, with the ability to integrate AI-driven insights.

• Knowledge ofSQL, R, VBA, or other data manipulation languages.

• Understanding ofresponsible AI principles, model governance, bias detection, and explainability techniques.

• Knowledge and experience of themarket trading functionand financial services operations.

• Exposure toagentic AI frameworks, multi-agent orchestration, or AI copilot development.
