Job Overview

The Relationship Associate is an intermediate-level position responsible for supporting client relationships, assisting clients in raising funds in capital markets, and providing strategic advisory services for mergers, acquisitions, and other financial transactions in coordination with the Institutional Banking team. The overall objective of this role is to support relationship management activities, contribute to investment strategies, and help deliver capital and banking solutions to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of issues and provide high-quality client support.
  • Conduct financial and operational investigations, including credit, foreign exchange, cash management, and trade services, ensuring timely resolution and client satisfaction.
  • Support Bankers in preparing relationship reviews, client portfolio analyses, and business development initiatives.
  • Partner with Product Partners and Relationship Managers to execute Know Your Client (KYC) requirements, including origination, monitoring, renewals, and completion across products and marketing levels.
  • Coordinate credit originations, credit allocations, approvals, documentation, bookings, fee collections, and renewals for Standby Letters of Credit, including preparation of supporting justifications for exceptions.
  • Assist in preparing credit approval materials and client discussions, ensuring required approvals and documentation are properly recorded in Citi Risk Approvals.
  • Maintain portfolio data integrity, including accurate marketing levels and legal entity structures across relevant systems.
  • Identify and escalate risks appropriately while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and controls.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong client-focus and results orientation.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven planning, negotiation, and relationship management capabilities.
  • Consistently demonstrates professionalism and sound judgment.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Fluent in Russian, and English,
  • Knowledge of Kazakh is advantage
