Job Overview

The Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements, including using script tools and analyzing/interpreting code
• Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, and recommend programming solutions, install, and support customer exposure systems
• Apply fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications.
• Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, as well as conduct testing and debugging
• Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
• Identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgements to recommend and implement solutions
• Resolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions through the applications of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents
• Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
• Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
• Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

• 2-5 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry
• Intermediate level experience in Applications Development role
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
• Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

We are seeking an experienced mid level Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our automated build, deployment, and infrastructure processes. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of our production environments by leveraging a wide range of DevOps tools and practices.

Responsibilities:

• Java-Centric CI/CD: Design, build, and maintain advanced CI/CD pipelines tailored for large-scale Java applications. This includes build optimization (Maven/Gradle), artifact management, and ensuring high performance of the JVM in containerized environments.
• Containerization and Orchestration: Master the management and scaling of containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes. This includes writing optimized Docker files for Java applications and managing complex K8s deployments.
• Database Integration: Manage the deployment and lifecycle of Oracle databases within the CI/CD process, ensuring seamless integration with Java applications.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Java developers, full stack engineers to containerize services, troubleshoot production issues, and create scalable, production-ready AI-powered services.
• Develop and maintain shell scripts for automation of operational tasks and system administration.
• Manage source code, branching strategies, and access control using GitHub.
• Containerize applications using Docker and manage container orchestration with Kubernetes, including cluster setup, scaling, and maintenance.
• Implement and manage comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using AppDynamics and Kibana to ensure system health and performance.
• Author and manage configuration files and deployment manifests using YAML.
• Analyze complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards to define and develop solutions to high level problems
• Implement cloud services using Java, JSON, SQL, PL/SQL, XML. 
• Deploy services as containers in Enterprise Container System (ECS) using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Use Gen AI coding assistants in day to day development - Copilot, Claude, Devin AI
• Develop application methodologies and standards for program analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
• Utilize advanced knowledge of supported main system flows and comprehensive knowledge of multiple areas, including Java, Spring
• Consult with end users to identify system function specifications and incorporate into overall system design
• Allocate work, and act as an advisor/coach developers, analysts, and new team members

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Operating System: Strong proficiency in Linux administration.
• Scripting: Advanced shell scripting skills for automation.
• Source Control: Expertise in Git and GitHub, including branching and merging strategies.
• CI/CD: Hands-on experience with Jenkins, Ansible and Harness for building and managing complex pipelines.
• Containerization: In-depth knowledge of Docker for creating and managing container images.
• Orchestration: Proven experience with Kubernetes for deploying, managing, and scaling containerized applications.
• Monitoring & Logging: Experience with application performance monitoring using AppDynamics and log analysis with Kibana.
• Configuration: Proficiency in writing and managing configurations using YAML.
• Database: Experience with Oracle database administration and integration in a DevOps context.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

• Experience in software engineering and architecture with full-stack and data expertise

• Demonstrated leadership, project management, and development skills
• Relationship and consensus building skills
