Job Overview

Sanctions Asset Blocking - Securities and Derivatives Senior Investigator is an intermediate level position responsible for supporting the EMEA Sanctions Asset Blocking Team in the Securities and Derivatives area. This position plays a crucial part in the execution of sanctions-related controls, ensuring that Citi identifies, restricts, and reports assets in compliance with global sanctions regimes. The role involves assisting with daily operations, contributing to process improvements, and working in coordination with the broader Transaction Services and Global Compliance teams to mitigate risk and ensure regulatory adherence.

Responsibilities:

• Support the daily operational tasks of the Asset Blocking Team, ensuring performance and quality expectations are met
• Process securities transactions, provide analytic input for traders and aid in review of derivative products
• Adhere to strict regulatory timelines and service-level agreements
• Utilize data analysis tools and methodologies, in conjunction with professional judgement to make process improvement recommendations
• Resolve settlement related issues and escalate as needed; recommend solutions to resolve complex issues
• Participate in the implementation of assigned projects, including new products, services and upgrades to platforms
• Identify policy gaps and formulate new policies to enhance the streamlining of trade flow processes
• Monitor and provide solutions to errors to minimize risk to the bank
• Provide informal guidance, and/or on the job training to new team members
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

• 2-5 years of relevant experience
• Demonstrated comprehension of Treasury products, accounting and regulatory policies
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: Sanctions, AML, Account Opening, or Payments processing
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
• Resilience and the ability to work effectively under pressure and against tight deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A proactive and self-motivated approach to tasks
• Proficiency in MS Excel is required; experience with data analysis tools is a plus
• A good understanding of the global geopolitical landscape and its implications for compliance is beneficial

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience in Business, Accounting, or Finance
