The US Branded Cards Finance organization is part of Citi’s US Personal Banking Finance organization and supports the US Branded Cards & Lending business, one of the largest credit card businesses in the US. The US Branded Cards business is focused on growing its products across Proprietary and Co-Branded offerings, radically digitizing and optimizing customer experiences, and managing emerging payment solutions. As a Citi business with attractive returns and efficiencies, the US Branded Cards business continues to remain a critical financial contributor to firmwide performance.

The Costco Finance function supports both the Co-Brand Cards Business Head, General Managers the Costco Business, and the LFO of the Co-Brand Cards business. The team is responsible for providing business counsel & strategic support, analyzing financial data, supplying executive management with insights to make informed decisions, and providing other internal and external stakeholders with the transparency to understand the dynamics driving the business. The group works closely with the US Cards Line of Business to understand the financial results and drive performance on both a tactical day to day basis, as well as long term strategic decisions.

Position Summary

The Finance Lead for Costco is responsible for providing end to end financial oversight on Citi’s Costco credit card portfolio in coordination with the broader Finance & Product Management team. The role manages relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. The overall objective is to apply analytical thinking/knowledge to create operating plans, evaluate growth strategies and analyze reports that support the Costco credit card portfolio.


A good understanding of the industry and direct competitors' products and services is necessary to assist the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the relevant part of the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas. Excellent communication skills required in order to manage relationships with stakeholders. Responsible for executing functional strategy in area managed. Accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation and contribution to future strategy of the area(s).

Responsibilities:

  • Drive forward looking processes including forecasts, strategic/operating plans, financial outlooks, and review results
  • Perform analysis and deliver presentations related to the financial performance of Citi and its competitors
  • Generate analytics for month/quarter end flash results, related highlights, and executive management reports as well as lead quarterly competitor reviews, quarterly annotated supplement, and quarterly investment reports
  • Prepare/present to management and stakeholders on using metrics to evaluate and drive business decisions
  • Advise internal clients on the implications of business trends, issues, operating environment changes, and firm/business unit strategy
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to bank policy.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience
  • Experience within financial services or related industry
  • Experience providing financial analysis for monthly forecasts, strategic multi-year forecasts, and annual budgets
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge in additional systems including Oracle, Essbase, and SAP
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience required
  • Master’s degree preferred

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$144,480.00 - $216,720.00
