Job Overview
Marketing and Franchise Development in the U.S. Personal Bank is focused on deploying best-in-class marketing campaigns and advertising efforts while engaging net new external partnerships to enhance our product and solutions set. The team’s focus is to unify cross-Personal Bank strategies to deliver ideal end-to-end experiences to our customers.
The Citi Retail Services (CRS) Marketing team leads all marketing efforts for the CRS business. CRS is a leader in the payments industry and manages over 40 million customer accounts via long-standing partnerships with industry leaders including Macy’s, The Home Depot, L.L. Bean, Dillard’s and Best Buy. With a pre-eminent global brand and distribution, CRS delivers industry-leading products, advanced services and payment systems that address clients’ evolving needs. Integral to CRS success is the introduction and management of innovative programs, products and solutions through strong partnerships and dedicated employees who are committed to excellence.
The Head of Citi Retail Services Marketing is currently seeking a Director of Partner Acquisition Marketing Growth. The individual in this role will be responsible for leading the strategic direction and roadmap for Acquisition growth across a breadth of Citi’s partners and channels, including leading marketing programs, monitoring performance trends, and defining and driving critical innovation strategies.
Beyond overseeing core acquisition marketing efforts currently underway, other responsibilities will include identifying and championing new acquisition channels and offers, leveraging digital marketing best practices, applying advanced analytical tools to optimize and scale performance marketing channels, and championing capabilities to fuel account growth.
Key Responsibilities
Identify our north star: Set and drive the vision for the team. Lead the development of overall acquisition strategy across priority channels in collaboration with x-functional business partners to advance acquisition strategy, targeting, delivery, process, and capabilities. Drive to organizational prioritization of investments and resources to advance growth ambitions.
Lead the effort: Manage the central acquisition function for the benefit of multiple partner portfolios, driving innovation and defining efficiencies to enable scale wherever possible. Collaborate with business teams to support all marketing campaign deliverables required to drive sales and penetration. Develop working model with acquisition teams in broader MFD Marketing team as needed. Collaborate with the Marketing leadership team peers to identify and drive strategic initiatives within the Marketing organization.
Set the course: Drive centralized planning and performance assessment for CRS acquisition program, incorporating insights from portfolio leads and x-functional partners. Keep pulse on industry innovation and fresh solutions. Lead complex operations and play a key role in driving the evolution of marketing capabilities.
Grow digital channels: Build winning demand gen and conversion programs for acquisition growth in out-of-store digital channels; influence and oversee program buildouts and marketing execution as needed.
Leverage our data: Partner with analytics, risk, data, and modeling partners – and x-functional partners – to enhance performance and understand impact of all marketing touchpoints across acquisition channels.
Own the outcomes: Take accountability for program growth by aligning goals, meeting performance commitments, and staying aggressively on top of daily, weekly, monthly, and longer-term actions needed to meet the business’s acquisition plan.
Risk Management: Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Lead The Team: Manage and inspire a high-performing team across multiple disciplines and objectives to deliver business results while setting and achieving stretch targets. Coach and develop team members, providing proactive feedback and challenging opportunities for continued learning and growth.
Qualifications
Data and technology-driven marketer with 15+ years of professional experience, including at least 10 in senior performance marketing/growth marketing acquisition role(s) with consumer credit products and 8-10 years of experience managing teams. Digital/offline co-brand cards and retail marketing experiences are a plus.
Track record in driving acquisition programs at scale, with a focus on digital transformation.
Hands-on experience across all dimensions of digital marketing. This includes 1) Martech (Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, Adobe Experience Manager, etc.), 2) Integration of digital pre-qualification/pre-screen tools, 3) Funnel optimization, testing, etc.
Determined leader with experience building and launching acquisition capabilities from ideation to requirements to implementation.
Understanding of how/when to use data and ML techniques to optimize acquisition programs.
Ability to motivate others under pressure, lead a team through ambiguity, and glean buy-in for disruptive ideas.
Exemplary communication and presentation skills, with ability to partner effectively and influence key decisions across various levels of the organization.
Exceptional interpersonal, relationship, and influence management skills that allow for close partnerships with many different constituents, internal and external.
Partner-oriented mindset with ability to make strategic recommendations that deliver mutually beneficial outcomes for Citi and our partners.
Comfortable operating in a highly matrixed, complex environment.
Education:
Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
