IFRS 9 Risk Analyst
Job Background/context:
In response to heightened standards and expectations, both from management and regulators, deeper involvement and technical expertise is expected from Risk, specifically in the areas IFRS 9 credit risk analytics. To make this effort efficient across the regions and Citi jurisdictions, a new centralized IFRS9 Team within Finance CRO organization has been established. The role will be responsible for leading reporting and analytical solutions within the IFRS 9 team. Focus of the role will be on development and enhancement of key analytical capabilities of the team and interacting with internal stakeholders across Citi jurisdictions around the world. The role is a part of integrated expert team, covering all countries subject to IFRS 9 reporting, and responsible for providing IFRS 9 related support in areas including: advanced analytics, reporting, modelling overlays etc.
Job purpose:
The newly established IFRS9 team within the Finance CRO organization, operates with a dual mandate of:
Execution & Analytics: Serve a key SME & primary point of contact to Legal Entity/Country CROs on IFRS9 related matters. Including Model execution, results analytics/explains & providing last mile support.
Governance: Own the Firmwide IFRS9 ECL policy & provide Central Oversight by monitoring compliance with its key requirements.
Responsibilities:
Contribute to development of Central IFRS 9 analytical capabilities, covering 40 Countries across Citi jurisdictions
Coordinate preparation of IFRS9 materials and ad-hoc deliverables for individual countries
Work closely with Global teams and in-country peers to address local regulatory IFRS 9 requirements
Act as a conduit & build consensus on certain IFRS9 topics, by interacting with internal stakeholders from Risk, Finance, Modelling teams and Country Management
Enhance IFRS9 ECL analytical capabilities (e.g. Tableau reporting build-out)
Perform data quality and variation analysis, execute internal control processes
Enhance, streamline and expand existing processes around ad-hoc analytical requests
Support Overarching Governance mandate in ensuring compliance with Central IFRS9 policy.
Preparation of global governance forums materials, to support Central Oversight
Qualifications:
5+ years of relevant work experience
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, or another field with analytical focus (Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, etc.) is required
Good understanding of how to interpret and address business data requests
Knowledge and understanding of basic Finance and Accounting principles
Knowledge of credit risk measures and risk data systems
Knowledge of Python, Tableau is advantageous
Experience in quantitative analysis or modelling is an advantage
Strong analytical skills, with ability to come up with data driven conclusions
Strong written and verbal communications skills, with ability to articulate complex concepts across diverse stakeholders
Ability to develop and effectively communicate practical solutions aligned with key internal priorities and external stakeholder expectations
Expert knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
Strong work ethic & stakeholder management skills
