Team/Role Overview:

The group is part of the in-business First Line of defense looking after Operational risk. The team is responsible for proactively investigating, developing, and implementing enhancements as well as design frameworks which will enhance processes to ensure they operate within the businesses risk appetite.

Operational Risk Senior Manager is responsible for In-business Risk identification, assessment, measurement, monitoring and reporting. The role focusses on the entire scope of Operational risks.  

What you’ll do:

• Produce analytics and reporting used to manage Operational risk

• Perform root cause analysis of common operational problems

• Develop, enhances, and validate the methods of measuring and analyzing different Operational risk types.

• Communicate results to diverse audiences

• Provide guidance to junior analysts as and when necessary

• Manage stakeholder interaction

• Apply AI based solution to enhance risk identification and controls

• Challenge the status quo, display initiative and innovation in coming up with solutions;

What we’ll need from you:

• Good knowledge and understanding of Markets Products and services.

• General management skills, leadership abilities and administrative experience,

• strong verifiable management of Excel and Power Point (exclusive). Proven data management skills such as VBA, Python, SQL, Power Bi or Tableau (valued but not exclusive)

• Proficiency handling very large data sets

• Familiarity with enhancing, automating, or simplifying control processes as well as monitoring control exceptions and breaches.

• Proven ability to design and lead projects that enhance processes, showcasing creativity in problem-solving complex situations.

• >10 years of experience in Operational Risk Management, Audit, Compliance or other control function

• Effective communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders across the business.

• Orientation to results and detail, efficient working in a dynamic environment, managing multiple responsibilities and delivery of simultaneous tasks in a rigorous control environment while connecting the dots across different workstreams.
