Job Overview

The Data Management and Governance Operations Analyst is a developing professional role. Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information. Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses' core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis & Insights: Conduct independent analysis of internal and external market metrics. Apply professional judgment to analyze and segment complex data based on operational parameters and customer behaviors.
  • Data Quality & Management: Review and analyze various data management items, including data quality issues, production reviews, data trending reports, metrics, and ad-hoc investigations of the data repository. Prepare comprehensive data quality reports and present analytical findings with potentially broad business impact to management.
  • Project Management: Lead and facilitate MIS projects, encompassing the collection, measurement, and analysis of project data; defining project scope and schedules; forecasting, tracking, and managing project costs including variance analysis and revisions; creating quality management plans with defined standards and metrics; and identifying, analyzing, responding to, and tracking project risks, ensuring timely issue resolution and closure.
  • Strategic Recommendations: Use discretion to recommend and develop beneficial queries and database reports for client groups.
  • Problem Solving & Leadership: Independently address most problems and complex Management Information System (MIS) issues.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Participate in cross-functional analysis to identify data issues, process gaps, and potential system enhancements, proposing effective business solutions. Partner with reengineering team members as needed to execute programs.
  • Expertise & Autonomy: Integrate in-depth specialized knowledge, combined with a solid understanding of industry standards and MIS practices. Demonstrate a strong understanding of how the team and area integrate with broader sub-function or job family goals. Operates with a limited level of direct supervision, exercising independence of judgment and autonomy.
  • Specialization & Mentorship: May focus on a specialized area of analytics and occasionally provide informal guidance or on-the-job training to new team members.


Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in a related role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools is advantage (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Excel).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, QlikView).
  • Understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices.
  • Familiarity with database concepts and data warehousing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
