Technology Product Owner- (Hybrid)
The Technology Product Owner is a strategic and responsible for shaping the long-term vision and driving innovation for Internal Audit products. This role requires a deep understanding of the audit domain, regulatory landscape, emerging technologies, and business needs. The Lead Analyst partners closely with business stakeholders, product managers, and engineering teams to prioritize investments, define KPIs, and lead "test and learn" experiments to maximize value and ensure compliance. This role significantly impacts the overall performance and effectiveness of the Internal Audit product portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning & Vision:
- Collaborates with Product Managers and Business Stakeholders to contribute to the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Internal Audit, aligning product goals with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Owns the 3-5 year strategic roadmap for designated Internal Audit product areas.
- Develops and communicates the long-term vision, goals, and strategies to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Conducts competitive analysis and monitors industry trends to inform investment decisions and foster long-term innovation.
- Prepares and delivers executive-level communications on product strategy and performance.
- Product Development & Management:
- Develops a deep understanding of client needs, both business and technical, translating them into product features.
- Articulates capabilities and features for a product vision aligned with a target operating model, delivering iteratively towards the future state using Agile methodology.
- Leads the creation of working backwards documents for platform product releases.
- Defines and measures key performance indicators (KPIs) for products.
- Makes strategic trade-off decisions across multiple products within the portfolio.
- Develops business and platform requirements for individual components or smaller products.
- Sets the direction for platform design and determines release goals.
- Identifies and champions best practices for continuous product development improvement.
- Prioritizes and triages new changes and defects, making critical decisions on showstoppers and product quality.
- Designs, implements, and tracks success metrics for product outcomes and management reporting.
- Gathers user feedback to refine the backlog and improve customer experience.
- Backlog Management & Agile Execution:
- Owns and manages the product backlog, creating and refining epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Drives prioritization of user stories based on business value.
- Prepares for and executes quarterly planning, ensuring proper creation, refinement, ranking, pointing, and coordination of epics and stories with cross-stream dependencies.
- Works in an Agile environment, driving sprints and releases to ensure timely delivery of high-quality product features.
- Partners with Scrum Masters, Engineering teams, and Quality Assurance teams for smooth sprint execution.
- Adapts to change, anticipates and manages risk with data-driven decision-making, removes impediments, and accelerates time-to-market.
- Stakeholder Management & Collaboration:
- Acts as a bridge between Business and Engineering teams, ensuring clear communication of product requirements.
- Builds strong partnerships with business stakeholders, product managers, product owners, and engineering teams to align on priorities and requirements.
- Serves as the primary interface with business stakeholders and technology teams.
- Effectively influences cross-functional teams to achieve product goals.
- User Experience (UX) Design:
- Collaborates with UI/UX designers to build user-friendly product features with optimized user experience through business process flows, user journey maps, and UI wireframe creation.
- Risk Management & Compliance:
- Assesses and mitigates risks associated with business decisions, prioritizing the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients, and assets.
- Ensures compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and internal policies.
- Exercises sound ethical judgment and escalates control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years as an Agile Product Owner or similar product-focused role delivering end-to-end solutions for enterprise applications, preferably in a financial institution.
- Experience with Compensation product areas.
- Proven experience building complex business and/or transactional models.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including prioritization, clear communication, and cross-functional influence.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex business problems and articulate requirements.
- Experience working with users and UX teams to develop user journey maps, wireframes, and mockups.
- Expertise with Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Advanced Agile Product Owner certifications (SAFe certification a plus).
- Experience in a multinational financial institution, Internal Audit, or Risk Management is a plus.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:
$125,600.00 - $188,400.00
