The Data Governance Group Manager role lies within the TTS Operations Data Governance Execution team, and is focused on supporting the multi-year, multi-workstream strategy of implementing effective data governance and remediation programs in alignment with key enterprise-wide regulatory commitments. 

Key Areas of Focus: 

  • Drive Adoption of enterprise-wide e2e Data Operating Model (DOM)
  • Management of Operations-wide Data Concern Remediation Management (DCRM) process
  • Lead Data Quality Controls Assessments (DQCAs) to identify and remediate data quality control gaps within TTS Ops processes
  • Facilitate strategic creation and development of globally consistent static data maintenance across TTS Ops platforms / teams
  • Partner with Product and Technology stakeholders on critical Master Reference Data (MRD) initiatives
  • Re-engineering projects: identify gaps and define opportunities in current end-to-end processes for improving data quality front-to-back
  • Team and function leadership:  lead a virtual globally distributed team of transformation and program professionals, providing guidance, direction, coaching and support as appropriate.
  • Program management oversight: oversee the processes required for the governance of the operations portfolio: centralized tracking, measurement and reporting.

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Central point of contact accountable for orchestrating Data Governance within TTS Ops,  including driving the effective implementation of the Citi Data Governance Policy (CDGP) and the associated obligations (e.g., data ownership, authoritative data sources, data requirements, data quality rules, and data quality controls)
  • Engages and coordinates with key stakeholders, SMEs, Data Stewards, Data Owners, Technology Owners & TTS DGO to drive the execution of data controls and strategic data priorities
  • Drives the adoption of data governance capabilities and standards as defined by the ECDO and ensures data quality practices are managed across TTS Ops to satisfy regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate, manage and drive projects related to data quality, including identifying business requirements, establishing priorities, tracking projects to completion, and evaluating results
  • Ensures consistent adoption of the ECDO Data Quality SMP control
  • Leads engagement in data quality / governance reviews, exams, and inquiries with Citi 2nd & 3rd LoDs and regulators representing TTS Ops
  • Develops and executes influencing strategies to build & increase buy-in and business leadership support.
  • Provides technical expertise, and overall expert advice (technical, functional, change management, linkage to systems redesign efforts, etc.).
  • Interfaces with business, key stakeholders, champions & data quality initiatives.
  • Proactively communicates with senior leadership.
  • Identifies potential re-engineering and standardization opportunities for data maintenance and utilization in alignment with regulatory and management needs
  • Engages senior process owners for each project, locally or globally as required.
  • Defines business cases and gains stakeholder buy-in for projects.
  • Educates teams in data quality tools, techniques and principles.
  • Executes communication campaign to senior stakeholders across all impacted areas.
  • Works with cross-business teams to ensure communication is effective and achievements are communicated in a streamlined fashion.
  • Perform other duties and functions as assigned.

Experience / Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in Banking, Financial Services, plus 3-5 years of Managerial experience 
  • Experience delivering re-engineering in a complex, multi-national banking environment.
  • Organizational and planning skills, showing an ability to operate in a multi-geography, matrix organisation; managing and where necessary leading activities through cross-functional teams, with the discipline to track delivery of complex deliverables over multiple months.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex concepts and strategies successfully.
  • Knowledge of TTS financial products such as Payments, Liquidity, Trade Financing, etc. is desirable
  • Proven ability to meet new challenges, assimilate new information and to influence people through maturity of approach.
  • Solution oriented - able to identify client pain points and suggest the path to resolution
  • Deep subject matter expertise around e2e data flows within technology ecosystem
  • Demonstrates consistent track record of having worked as a Program or Project Manager, or working on large, strategic cross-functional projects, including the ability to delegate and follow up effectively.
  • Strong people management skills to lead a motivated team and ability to coach and develop talent.
  • Execution focused, overcomes obstacles and minimizes bureaucracy.
  • Collaborates effectively by building partnerships and working well with others to meet shared objectives - collaborating Operations, Product & Technology

Education:

  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$141,440.00 - $212,160.00
