Project Senior Lead - Process Transformation & Strategy Implementation, SVP

Citi is changing and as part of that the Optimization and Enablement team within SMBIC Operations is at the forefront of using market leading techniques and practices to deliver our ambitious goals. An exciting opportunity has become available to help drive a key capability that will empower our change agenda.

We are seeking a strong Program/Portfolio Manager to manage and deliver the firm’s aggressive process improvement strategy. Working across various lines of business and in close partnership with both Technology and the COO organization, the individual will be responsible for pushing Transformation through the organization via the management of key programs delivering thoughtful design, managing implementation and measuring and tracking benefits.

The Project Senior Lead is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers.

Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Primarily affects a sub-function. Responsible for resource management and allocation of work within the team/project.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the management of significant projects may manage a department, product or process with a large amount of independence.

  • Identifies stakeholders and key organizations and build and manage relationships with each.

  • Directs the creation of multiple projects of work and manage their alignment to business goals.

  • Leads the facilitation, coordination, and arbitration of cross-functional macro level topics within/across projects and with Senior Management.

  • Leads the identification and drive resolution of issues, including those outside established projects of work.

  • Works with stakeholders to ensure project scope definition meets business objectives.

  • Works with Project Sponsor to ensure business case/cost benefit analysis is in line with business objectives.

  • Drives adherence to project processes, procedures, methods, and standards for project delivery and leverage across the project.

  • Assists project team in negotiating for resources owned by other departments in order ensure the project can be completed.

  • Directs the communication of status, issue, and risk disposition to all stakeholders, including senior management, on a timely basis.

  • Directs the identification of risks which impact project delivery and ensure mitigation strategies are developed and executed when necessary.

  • Develops and exercises business plans, policies and procedures and may also be responsible for various projects to improve efficiencies.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience

  • Technical expert and known internally and externally as reliable, knowledgeable resources

  • Experience with delivery of large scale Process Improvement projects.

  • Understanding of process modelling and ability to follow and challenge BPMs.

  • Understanding of Operational Risk, Processing Risk and the impact and relevant of straight through processing.

  • Clear understanding of the firm's different business Portfolio es and the related economics.

  • Demonstrated a consistent track record having worked as a Project Manager, Lead, PMO or department head, managing teams and large, strategic cross-functional projects.

  • CAPM, PMP, PgMP and/or MBA are a plus

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$130,880.00 - $196,320.00
