Job Overview

The Global Legal Solutions team within Citi Legal plays a pivotal role in supporting Citi's legal professionals by ensuring robust risk management and operational excellence. This role, as a Third-Party Management (TPM) Analyst, is central to safeguarding sensitive information and maintaining the integrity of Citi's legal operations when engaging with external partners.

On a day-to-day basis, the TPM Analyst will be responsible for executing and supporting information security controls assessments for external law firms that fall within Citi's Legal Risk Profile and Citi Legal Technology vendors. This involves a critical assessment of these firms' information security posture to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential risks to Citi's confidential data and systems.

A key aspect of this position is the strong collaborative partnership with various programs within Citi's Chief Information Security Office (CISO). The TPM Analyst will act as a crucial liaison, working closely with CISO stakeholders to align third-party security practices with Citi's overarching information security policies and standards. This collaboration is essential to ensure comprehensive and effective risk management for Citi Legal, protecting the firm against evolving cyber threats and regulatory challenges.

This position requires a proactive individual with a keen understanding of information security principles, risk management frameworks, and the ability to foster strong inter-departmental relationships. The TPM Analyst will contribute directly to maintaining Citi's reputation for security and compliance in its legal engagements.

The Legal Support Officer is a non-attorney role, responsible for providing legal support to the Citi Legal team. This role requires a pragmatic, proactive professional with thorough understanding of the Citi Legal Team. The overall objective of this role is to provide support to the Legal Team.

Role / Position Overview:

Citi Legal Global Legal Solutions team supports the Citi Legal attorneys. On a day-to-day basis, the Global Legal Solutions TPM analyst will work to support the information security controls assessments performed on Citi Legal external law firms who meet Citi’s Legal Risk Profile.  The Global Legal Solutions TPM analyst will expect to partner closely with the various programs  which make up  Citi’s Chief Information Security Office (CISO) to ensure proper risk management of Citi Legal.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for legal support activities related to legal operations, litigation, discovery or settlements
  • Role will focus on security audit and risk control self assessments, vendor and Third Party Risk Management, metrics reporting, and process automation
  • Preform assessment of IT application and general controls
  • Ensure all risk management initiatives are rolled out to required stakeholders efficiently
  • Executes, reviews, processes and tracks legal documentation, executes transactions and completes varied work requests from multiple sources that may be complex in character and have tight deadlines
  • Maintains detailed records, prepares legal documentation and reports, conducts administrative legal work; may contribute to the processing of billing and/or legal settlements
  • Conducts independent research on legal precedent, applying institutional knowledge, while staying abreast of new and changing regulatory and legal issues and industry initiatives
  • May be responsible for legislative/regulatory tracking and distribution of tracking results to legal and business colleagues
  • Works closely with team’s manager and legal peers to complete tasks assigned; investigations, research, communications, classification/routing of documentation
  • Communicates with senior management on legal issues
  • Mentor junior members of the team; training on established policies and procedures
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of relevant industry experience, preferably with some experience working in a corporate legal department or law firm
  • Ability to manage complex documentation with organization and detail
  • Must have excellent skills in MS Office. Emphasis on ability to analyze large volumes of data using Excel.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as project management skills
  • In-depth knowledge of legal customs and practices
  • Knowledge and understanding of the financial services industry
  • Direct relevant experience in third-party risk identification and management or operational area or processing field is an advantage
  • Strong data analysis skills and problem-solving abilities
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Experience in Third Party Management
  • Prior experience in Legal Operations, Third Party Management, and Reporting

Education:

  • Bachelors/University degree or equivalent experience

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$79,120.00 - $118,680.00
