Job Purpose:

This role sits within the new created global Institutional Credit Management (ICM) business which has been established with the objective to provide an integrated “end-to-end” credit underwriting, identification, measurement, management, and monitoring for wholesale credit businesses across the enterprise.

This position sits within ICM CAO Organization and provides operational support for both ‘Build’ and ‘Run’ activities related to ICM NAM Organization including execution of the reporting, compliance adherence, operational management, coordination of regulatory engagements, thematic internal and external (regulatory) reviews across all ICM pillars in NAM.

The role requires close liaison with various other Business Areas and support functions such as - Finance, Compliance, Technology and Operations to ensure timely escalation and remediation of issues. This person will work closely with the senior business heads and report to the NAM CAO to help execute the strategic goals of the Organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Execute against the following CAO responsibilities to support the ICM pillars in NAM to ensure the business is well coordinated, monitored, and in compliance with various compliance requirements:

  • Day-to-day business management and administrative duties required for the smooth operation of the business.
  • Provides project support to ensure the execution under ICM CAO owned issues / CAPs are properly remediated. Initiate and lead short, medium, and long-term projects to achieve the business objectives.
  • Partner with ICM pillar teams and Client Risk and Control team to Ensure governance and controls framework is fit for purpose and consistent across the ICM verticals in the region.
  • Support ICM goals and collaborate with cross functional teams including 2nd Line of defense, product teams, Finance, Operations, Technology to ensure their full support for the business
  • Be a local representative and champion for the ICM business pillars in various regional management, administrative and support forums such as infrastructure, facilities capacity planning etc. together with Central functions team and other regional CAO and execution teams
  • Define and implement efficient and standardized support structure for ICM – HR onboarding process, Application request and exception approvals for new hires and Consultants.
  • Ensure that the business specific documents and roles and responsibilities are updated and maintained in accordance with any changes to business strategy, policies and procedures
  • Develop and run various ICM wide regional and country specific Governance forums, including organization of materials, providing status updates
  • Act as the primary liaison with internal and external audit sources including Regulatory, FCR and Internal Audit
  • Interface with CAO Central team to develop and report operational scorecard metric and trends
  • Support other global function/business partners and regional CAOs on strategic initiatives / projects
  • Good knowledge of Citi´s risk systems and operational infrastructure and Understanding of Wholesale Credit Risk (WCR) management and a background in Operational Risk Management will be a plus
  • Work with regional ICRM (Product compliance), Information security Office (BISO) for compliance and adherence with regulations and assisting with investigation and  resolution of issues
  • Working alongside the Global Business Manager and to liaise with Business Heads to ensure appropriate support structure exists for ICM team
  • Work closely with the Markets, Banking and other regional Business Management teams and execution teams in execution of financial, compliance and regulatory activities such as local implementation of global initiatives.
  • Provide backup and support for the other regional Business managers in APAC and EMEA

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Experience in CAO / COO roles, middle office, risk, compliance or financial control
  • Background in project management and similar relevant work experience in financial services preferred.
  • Prior exposure to Banking or Capital markets, and familiarity with financial institution regulation and policies.
  • Wholesale Credit product knowledge and background in Credit Risk would be advantageous
  • Familiarity with Citi’s internal processes and systems including Front Office Credit systems such as CitiRisk is a plus
  • Experience working in global and complex settings with multiple stakeholders
  • Proven ability to work in a team of diverse skill sets and cultures
  • Excellent organizational, planning, analytical and influencing skills, leveraged in a global team and often “virtual” environment.
  • Detail-oriented, but comfortable working at the strategic level as well, with demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects, schedules, and budgets at the same time
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable working directly with business heads and senior executives

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of relevant work experience
  • Background in Credit assessment preferred but not required
  • Language skills in addition to English a plus (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese)
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for reporting and PowerPoint for presentation development

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree and managerial experience preferred

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$141,440.00 - $212,160.00
