Job Description: Head of Control Innovation and Technology
Location: Tampa, FL or Jacksonville, FL
Head of Control Innovation and Technology is a senior leadership role responsible for spearheading the strategy and execution of control automation and innovation initiatives across the organization. This role will partner extensively with Businesses and Functions (BFs) and the supporting Technology leads to identify opportunities to develop and implement cutting-edge to strengthen control performance on a risk-prioritized basis. The ideal candidate will drive interdisciplinary conversations between BFs and Technology on the adoption of new technologies, fostering a culture of continuous innovation in control processes and ensuring that control frameworks are integrated with advanced automation capabilities. This role reports to the Head of Control Framework, Standards and Implementation Lead with the Central Controls organization.
Responsibilities:
Execution Skills
Drive the strategy, identification, and implementation of innovative control solutions and automation opportunities, leveraging data analytics and other emerging tools to enhance control effectiveness and operational efficiency.
Partner closely with Businesses, Functions, and supporting Technology leads to design, build, and deploy automated controls, monitoring tools, and technology-driven solutions for proactive risk identification, assessment, and reporting.
Integrate control automation and technology within Citi's Enterprise Risk Management Framework and other risk governance structures, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and regulatory expectations.
Establish and utilize metrics and reporting frameworks to continuously measure, monitor, and improve the impact of control automation and innovation initiatives on overall control performance and the reduction of manual effort.
Champion a culture of continuous improvement and technological advancement within the control function, ensuring robust testing, validation, and agile deployment of automated controls while incorporating industry best practices and regulatory feedback.

Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with Business, Function and Technology leaders across all levels of the organization to drive adoption of innovative control solutions.
Effectively communicate and articulate the strategic vision for control technology to diverse audiences, securing buy-in and driving execution.
Drive cross-functional initiatives to embed automation and innovation into control processes, ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide technology and risk strategies.
Partner with Internal Audit and Independent Risk Management to ensure technology-driven control enhancements meet regulatory expectations and internal standards.
Mentor and develop team members, fostering expertise in control technology, data analytics, and automation.
Qualifications:
12+ years of experience in control innovation, technology implementation, risk management, or a related field, with a strong focus on automation and digital transformation, including 7-10+ years' managerial experience.
Demonstrated expertise in control automation, data analytics, or similar emerging solutions within a large financial institution.
Proven track record of successfully leading significant cross-functional technology and control automation initiatives, delivering measurable improvements in control effectiveness and efficiency.
Deep understanding of relevant banking regulations, supervisory expectations, and industry best practices related to control technology and automation.
Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business strategies.
Strong interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and influencing skills, capable of engaging and building consensus with senior business, risk, and technology stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, highly matrixed, and dynamic environment.
Openness to challenging existing paradigms and continuously seeking innovative solutions to control challenges.
•Intimate understanding of Citi’s Project Tracking System and its capabilities are highly desirable
Education:
Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Master's degree preferred

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:
$170,000.00 - $300,000.00
