Individuals in the Enterprise Risk Management are entrusted with managing the diverse and collective impact of the bank's risks. This involves identifying and managing enterprise-level and cross-cutting risks, designing scenarios for stress tests, managing climate risk, and safeguarding against reputational risk. This role is integral to the overarching objectives of the bank, as it ensures the bank's operations are within defined risk appetite and helps maintain financial stability. The role provides a comprehensive view of risk management, enabling the bank to anticipate, assess, and mitigate potential risks, crucial for the bank's sustained growth and success.

Responsibilities

  • Establish firm-wide standards for Concentration, risk appetite and limits, acting as a subject matter expert.
  • Set standards for risk appetite and limits across all business functions, countries, and legal entities in the firm, while ensuring their alignment with LOD responsibilities.
  • Align risk appetite and limits with firm-wide processes such as capital planning, strategic planning, risk identification, and stress testing, providing constant oversight and review.
  • Cascade enterprise risk appetite and limits deeper into the organization, challenging any inconsistencies and potential risks.
  • Responsible for managing the end-to-end limit management lifecycle, including setting, calibration, approval, breach identification, and remediation, ensuring their compliance with LOD responsibilities.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of the regulatory and industry operating environment to inform the design of leading risk management practices and governance mechanisms.
  • Engage senior management to socialize program enhancements, attend senior-level risk committees to advance the implementation of these
  • enhancements while consistently reviewing and challenging their effectiveness.
  • Manage existing processes, program enhancements, and various high-profile, ad hoc projects.
  • Support regulatory and audit reviews at various locations, maintaining the responsibility to oversee, challenge, and review their findings and compliance with LOD responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience
  • In-depth understanding of risk governance programs and processes.
  • Expertise in setting standards for risk appetite and limits across diverse business functions, countries, and legal entities.
  • Experience in managing end-to-end limit management lifecycle, including setting, calibration, approval, breach identification, and remediation.
  • Deep understanding of the regulatory and industry operating environment, with the ability to apply this knowledge to the design of risk management practices and governance mechanisms.
  • Experience in engaging senior management and attending senior-level risk committees.
  • Proven experience in leading and developing high-performing, diverse teams
  • History of supporting regulatory and audit reviews at various locations
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills to lead risk governance programs and processes
  • Exceptional understanding and knowledge of setting and enforcing firm-wide standards for risk appetite and limits.
  • Effective project management skills to manage the end-to-end limit management lifecycle.
  • Deep understanding of the regulatory and industry operating environment with the ability to apply this knowledge in practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage senior management and attend senior-level risk committees.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Strong decision-making skills, with a focus on risk-considered business decisions.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • High ethical standards and professionalism, with the ability to support regulatory and audit reviews.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for risk management

Education

Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred

This candidate will be leading Citi's capital stress loss limit framework and working closely with stakeholders across Finance, Risk Analytics, Businesses and other Risk Categories to continue driving enhancement and adoption of this limit framework.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Enhance capital-based stress loss (CBSL) limit framework and better alignment annual CBSL limit update with annual Capital Plan and Operating Plan process
  • Continue to enhance CBSL limit calibration methodology and CBSL limit management procedure, for both Citigroup and CBNA
  • Simplify CBSL limit harmonization guideline and methodology to businesses and products, and better connect CBSL limits with BAU risk management limits
  • Enhance and execute quarterly CBSL usage forecast and capacity review process, in conjunction with the firm’s QMMF process
  • Partner with Finance/Business/Risk stakeholders to streamline the interdependency between the firm’s QMMF/GSST scenario update with CBSL limit update
  • Drive analytical capability enhancements with relevant analytical teams to better manage changes in CBSL limit usages, both ex-ante and ex-post

Qualifications

  • Familiarity or prior experience with stress limit framework in limit calibration, business limit allocation, alignment with capital planning and business plan, etc. aspects
  • Familiarity with Strategic/Operating Planning and Capital Planning process and methodologies
  • Familiarity with capital management concepts such as Tangible Common Equity (TCE), RWA allocation, Return on TCE, etc.
  • Knowledgeable about stress testing models/methodologies, stress scenarios, and stress testing analytics/infrastructure and their use in limit setting

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$170,000.00 - $300,000.00
