Job Overview

The Senior Lead, Commitment Management is a pivotal leadership role within Citi's Chief Data Office (CDO), specifically situated within the Enterprise Data Office (EDO) organization. This role is instrumental in driving the execution of Citi's comprehensive Data Transformation initiatives. The primary mandate of this position is to strategically support the remediation, successful closure, and post-closure validation of critical Data Commitments, particularly those arising from regulatory or consent order obligations.

As part of the EO&T division, the EDO is at the forefront of an enterprise-wide endeavor to transform and strengthen Citi's data landscape, modernize its data infrastructure, simplify the data operating model, and execute key strategic priorities for the firm. The EDO is responsible for defining and enforcing data-related policies and standards across Citi, empowering the firm to take full ownership and accountability for robust data governance and management.

The Senior Lead, Commitment Management will be responsible for a range of critical activities, including but not limited to:

  • Strategic Alignment & Challenge: Act as a crucial liaison, translating execution-level details into strategic impact assessments.

  • Provide independent challenge and robust assessment of commitment outcomes against predefined success criteria, ensuring alignment with the Quarterly Progress Report, Path to Closure and Path to Target State.

  • Inter-Commitment Synergy: Proactively identify and facilitate alignment and dependency management across various Consent Order commitments, fostering collaboration among stakeholders to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Expert Guidance & Oversight: Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in data policies and transformation commitments, offering comprehensive support and oversight for key Data Transformation programs and initiatives.

  • Commitment Scoping & Review Leadership: Lead the end-to-end completion of commitment scoping documents, coordinating and facilitating thorough reviews with all relevant Lines of Defense (LoD) stakeholders to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Executive Reporting & Support: Support the completion of tollgate executive summaries, preparing them for critical review and challenge by the Executive Management Team (EMT).

  • Progress Monitoring & Closure Management: Continuously monitor and report on the progress of commitment execution. Drive the successful closure of commitments and associated post-closure validation and remediation activities to ensure sustained compliance and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience, Banking or Finance industry preferred in a Data Governance/ Data Management/ Process Engineering or related area

  • Communicates effectively, develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences; able to drive consensus, and influence relationships at all levels

  • Collaborates effectively by building partnerships and working well with others to meet shared objectives

  • Strong negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills across a variety of stakeholders at different levels

  • Optimizes work processes by balancing effective / efficient processes with a focus on continuous improvement. Demonstrates ability to balance between seeing the “big picture” while paying close attention to detail

  • Organizational savvy: understands systems, management processes, knows where to go for information and how to interpret them

  • Working knowledge of Data Operating Model practices, Data Governance and Data Compliance within large, financial services firms

  • Proficient with MS Office, including but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint, Word.

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$141,440.00 - $212,160.00
