Job Overview
We are looking for a talented finance professional to join the local CFO & Controller’s team in Sofia. The team is responsible for the oversight of finances for the Bulgaria legal entity, and the generation, tracking and submission of financial & regulatory reports. This role is ideal for an individual with a few years of experience in a relevant field and will be mentored by more senior colleagues.
In this position you will use and expand your experience and professional skills for the following responsibilities:
Drive local regulatory reporting oversight for CEP Bulgaria in collaboration with the wider regional team and the centralized CSC Local Regulatory Reporting Team
Coordinate and oversight over all Legal Entity Management (LEM) and accounting processes in accordance with corporate requirements and regulations on accounting adopted by Bulgarian legislative bodies
Monitor of corporate policies governing accounting and its competent application, tracking related changes, action plans and implementation
Implementation of the necessary controls and taking all necessary measures to ensure the integrity and reliability of the data used for reporting
Maintenance of internal chart of accounts (GL), General Ledger accounts and MIS details opening and maintenance
Participate in the development and implementation of new business products, ensuring compliance with accounting and local regulatory reporting; participation in key franchise projects with impact on regulatory reporting
Identify and resolve emerging problems using subject-matter knowledge in finance, and proactively escalate issues as needed
What we consider a potentially good mix of qualifications and skills:
4+ years of experience related to Finance, Accounting, Audit or in another relevant field
Preferred qualification in Finance/Economics/Accounting, strong knowledge of accounting standards in theory and in practice is an important skill for this role
Experience with financial & regulatory reporting processes is considered a very important asset for this position
Fluency in English - verbal and written. Clear and concise communication skills in English is required
Good knowledge of banking products, understanding of key concepts in finance, financial reporting, and regulatory policy are considered useful for this role
Strong Excel skills and hands-on experience with complex spreadsheets is a must
Excellent analytical skills, strong judgment and decision-making abilities (problem solving)
Proactive attitude, ability to learn quickly and work successfully both independently and within a team
Strong planning and time management skills
